The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that viewers are in for a big week, as a shocking secret is overheard by more than one person. The new B&B promo for the week of July 22, 2019 is entitled “A Critical Mistake” and is about a major slip-up that the manipulative and devious Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) will make by week’s end. Viewers won’t want to miss it!
The promo begins with Thomas talking to himself and bemoaning the fact that he’s “surrounded by idiots.” He’s most likely frustrated with his fellow secret-keeper Florence “Flo” Fulton (Katrina Bowden), who feels terribly guilty about keeping the secret that Phoebe Forrester (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) is actually Beth Spencer. Flo periodically threatens to divulge the secret, and then Thomas predictably issues threats and Flo keeps quiet.
Well, according to The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will overhear one of these conversations between Flo and Thomas. Flo will show up at Thomas and Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) wedding reception in an inebriated state, provoking an argument with Thomas. Thomas is shown in the promo angrily telling Flo at the reception that she’ll keep the secret until the day she dies.
Well, Liam will eavesdrop on this argument and hear something about a secret involving Hope. He’ll also notice that the argument seemed threatening in nature, and according to B&B spoilers, he’ll launch his own stealth investigation into what’s going on between Thomas and Flo. Liam is shown in the promo on the phone adamantly telling someone that Thomas has a secret, so he’ll be on the right track here.
Of course, Liam’s going to have to do a lot of leg work to finally get to the truth. B&B viewers will remember that Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) did a pretty thorough job in arranging phony birth records and documents for Flo for the purposes of a smooth adoption. It will necessarily take Liam some time to wade through all the deception and red tape.
But in the end, Liam’s little investigation may be the least of Thomas’ worries. The promo indicates that Thomas, while he’s usually very careful and calculated, will make a critical mistake…he’ll be overheard talking about Beth by his son Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).
Thomas is shown in the Bold preview in his bedroom while talking on the phone to Flo. Thomas tells her clearly (and loudly) that “no one is going to know that baby Beth is alive.” Then, in the next scene, Douglas is shown at his father’s bedroom door. Thomas says, “What have I told you about knocking?” and Douglas replies, “I heard you. Beth is alive.”
And that’s going to leave Thomas panicked. We’ll see what happens from here, but knowing Thomas, he’ll probably try to convince Douglas that he didn’t hear what he thought he heard, and that they need to keep whatever he thought he heard a secret from Hope. Of course, given that Douglas is a young kid, it could be pretty tricky to keep him from telling someone what he heard.
It looks like Thomas is going to pile on the pressure on Douglas to keep their conversation to be their little secret, given that ongoing B&B spoilers say that Douglas is going to feel pressured by his dad in the coming days. It would certainly be an interesting twist if Douglas ended up saying something to someone that ended up blowing the lid off the Beth secret.
