The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) may hit Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) where hit hurts. On the Y&R episode of September 12, Adam has a poignant chat with a glum Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). He makes it clear that he isn’t getting back together with Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), but he assures Connor that he’s going to be a huge part of his life.
Adam also points out that being Connor’s dad is the most important thing to him. He insists, “There is nothing – NOTHING – in this world that means more to me than you.” Y&R fans know conversations like this can serve as major hints about what’s ahead. There are likely two story clues we can get out of this one.
For starters, Adam’s certainty that he won’t reunite with Chelsea is pretty much a guarantee that he actually will. The Young and the Restless spoilers for this fall back up that idea. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will keep drifting toward Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), so Y&R is apparently shifting from “Shadam” to “Chadam.”
Connor Newman Is The One Thing Adam Newman Cares About
Of course, that means they’ll have to destroy Chelsea and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) relationship. That’ll inevitably take some time, but it should indeed happen. That brings us to the next story clue in Adam and Connor’s chat. The fact that Connor is the one thing Adam truly cares about leaves him vulnerable. This is an easy way for Nick to hurt his brother – and you’d better believe he’ll want to.
Nick has promised not to interfere in Adam and Connor’s bond, but soap promises are often made to be broken. After Nick finds out Adam tampered with Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) meds, he should be pushed too far. This could take the Newman family war into a whole different realm. It may bring a specific battle for Adam and Nick, which could lead to a fierce fight over Connor.
Adam backed down on the matter of Christian Newman (Alex Wilson), but there’s still a restraining order against him. It’s hard for Adam to think he may never know his youngest son. Adam’s greatest fear is that Christian will grow up to hate him as much as he hates Victor – although we can tell Adam still loves his father deep down. He wouldn’t be visibly torn about his pill swap if that weren’t true.
Will Nick Newman Expose The Pill Switch To Connor Newman?
However, Adam doesn’t know Christian at this point. Christian has a connection with Nick and views him as his dad. It’s not like with Connor, who knows and adores Adam. Connor’s dad is his hero, so it’ll break Adam’s heart if Nick tries to poison Connor against him.
The Young and the Restless fans know Adam told Christian the truth about his paternity. That move definitely riled Nick up. Will Nick return the favor by exposing Adam’s pill switch to Connor? Connor’s already been worried about his grandpa’s illness. Knowing Adam made things worse, and actually caused Victor’s ‘death,’ would be awfully traumatic for the boy. Nevertheless, it’s easy to imagine Nick being ruthless enough to divulge it.
That’d be a good reason for Chelsea to turn her back on Nick. She may agree Adam made a horrible decision, but she’d view this as a horrible one, too. Chelsea doesn’t want Connor thinking his father’s a monster. Nick may also urge Chelsea to cut off all contact between Adam and Connor, which may not work for her either.
It’s looking more and more like Connor could be what ultimately prompts some romantic shakeups. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some shockers are looming, so stay tuned.
