The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sharon Needs To Choose Rey - Adam Doesn't Really Love Her

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) recent conversation with her daughter, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) about a hypothetical multiverse affirmed an open plot point. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) is a better man when compared to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and the right one for Sharon.

Of course, everyone in Genoa City, Wisconsin, understands the danger Adam could bring to Sharon’s life if she lets him all the way back in. So, as Mariah suggested, if her mom could opt for a redo, would she try again with Rey?

Shadam Is A Sham

Adam does care about Sharon in his own way. There’s no doubt that the one-time power couple known as Shadam was intoxicating back in the soapy day. But that was when Michael Muhney (Adam) was part of the cast.

Chelsea Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan) followed Sharon and formed Chadam, which resulted in Connor Newman’s (as now played by Judah Mackey) birth. Adam’s inability to convince Chelsea to reunite after his return from Las Vegas, Nevada, made Sharon his second choice, which Case’s character did recognize. The same can’t be said where Rey’s feelings are concerned.

Shey’s End Wasn’t Sharon’s Choice

Since Rey told Sharon that he still loved her, when opting to pull the recharge chord on Shey, he hasn’t moved on. The restored Detective Rosales’ choice involved Sharon’s perceived reckless lurch back to Adam. Rey’s repeated warnings didn’t work and so he regretfully decided to move out of the cottage.

Mia Rosales (Naomi Gonzalez) was Rey’s first choice many years ago. He also did everything possible to make their marriage work when she followed him to GC and attempted to right their marriage. But her eventual return to Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) naturally hurt Rey and served to end their union.

Shey officially started after Ria’s end. That was further evidence Rey was a principled man who values loyalty, which is something Sharon certainly couldn’t expect from Adam.

Pursuing Option While It Exists

Sharon isn’t the only available single woman on the planet. So Rey has other options.

The idea of remaining single is a choice Sharon has made, momentarily, in the past. However, Mariah’s insightful comment about Sharon’s underlying desire struck at the heart of the matter. Insightful, underlying, and heart were the key words in the last sentence and hopefully combine to fuel a revival of Shey in the near future.
