The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Tuesday, January 8, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will feel unsettled about J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) upcoming memorial. She’ll tell Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) that it shouldn’t be held in her home – where it all ended. Victoria will realize how that might sound, so she’ll add that she’s talking about the end of her relationship.
Billy will wonder if maybe Victoria should nix the idea, but she’ll insist on doing it for Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu). Later, Reed will share his own concerns with Billy. He’ll sense that Victoria’s on edge over all this, so he’ll ask if they should call it off. Billy will contend that his mom’s made peace with the plan, so Victoria and Reed should just try to get closure.
Over with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni), they’ll discuss Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) predicament. Nick will note that his dad claims he’s innocent and he believes that may be true. Phyllis will warn that Nick’s getting sucked back in. She won’t think a fresh start with Victor is a good plan since it always leads to pain.
Afterward, Victoria will drop by with the news about J.T.’s memorial service. Phyllis will mention that Victor’s murder charges must be hard for Reed to think about. That’ll definitely rub Victoria the wrong way. She’ll feel like Phyllis is just spewing garbage, but Nick will pipe up that they can’t be certain of anything. He won’t be completely sure that Victor isn’t guilty.
Once Nick is gone, Victoria will rage about Phyllis poisoning him against his father. She’ll argue that this is just about revenge and Phyllis will confirm it. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will want Victor to suffer for as long as possible. She’ll think Victoria’s dad is just as vile as J.T.
That’ll earn Phyllis a slap from Victoria, but she won’t be deterred. Phyllis will insist that she’ll speak about Victor however she wants. Victoria will make it clear that Phyllis had better not add fuel to the fire. She won’t want her fellow cover-up crew member making the situation worse. Phyllis will snap that Victoria shouldn’t threaten her, but Victoria will stand by her warning.
At Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) apartment, he’ll sit down for a taste-testing project with Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will invite them to try out her latest dishes and hold nothing back. Mia and Kyle will think the meal was fine, but they’ll confess that it was missing Lola’s usual flair. It was a bit on the safe side.
Lola will freak out over not being able to handle her new job, but Kyle will convince her that she’s got this. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) have faith in her unique style of cooking, too. Lola will decide to get back in the kitchen and give it another try, so she’ll be grateful for Kyle’s advice.
At Devon’s place, he’ll shut down Ana Hamilton’s (Loren Lott) criticism of Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin’s latest track. Devon will offer an apology later, but Ana would rather hear her version of the song. She’ll convince Fen to get her a copy of the final mix so she can put her own spin on it. Fen will reluctantly get on board and once Ana works her magic, he’ll be amazed.
Unfortunately, Y&R spoilers say Devon won’t be as impressed. In fact, he’ll be downright insulted that Ana and Fen went behind his back like this. After Ana takes the blame, Devon will inform her that she can no longer have anything to do with the label. He’ll refuse to let Ana’s meddling get in his way.
