The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, March 5, tease that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will dismiss Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) plan to go on the witness stand. He won’t want Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) testifying either. Michael will feel like putting either one of them up there would mean handing Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) a victory.
Instead, Michael will suggest making a plea deal. He’ll think he can negotiate a shorter prison sentence than if they see this trial through to the end. Victoria and Nikki will get on board, so Michael will head off to find Christine. Unfortunately, the DA won’t even consider letting the Newman women cut a deal. That’ll leave Michael with no choice but to use his backup strategy.
At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will distract a nervous Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) with vacation ideas. They’ll decide to take a trip to San Francisco once the trial wraps up. Suddenly, Tessa will take a distressing phone call. She’ll be summoned to the courthouse, where she’ll realize Michael’s strategy involves her taking the stand and admitting the blackmail.
Meanwhile, Michael will inform Nikki and Victoria that there’ll be no deal. They’ll wonder what’s next, but Michael will insist he’s already made his move. He could be in for a rude awakening if Tessa tells the whole truth – including what happened after she was exposed as the blackmailer. That kidnapping would completely blow any sympathy the ladies get from being blackmail victims.
In an interview room, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will admit to Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) told her he loved her on Valentine’s Day. Brittany will bring up the phone bill and how Rey pressured Sharon to spill the truth. She’ll think he used that love confession to trick her, but Sharon will disagree.
At Jabot, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will once again support Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni), who’ll be upset about Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) disdain for her. Soon after, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will arrive and find out Summer is a liver donor match. After moving past his initial doubts, Kyle will be ecstatic. He’ll want to get the ball rolling to save Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) ASAP.
Summer will suggest that Kyle should hold his horses. Going through with this would mean signing up for serious surgery. Summer will want to talk more about it at the athletic club, so Kyle will lead the way. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer will sport a smile as she trails behind him.
At Nick’s house, Phyllis will show up and hope they can work through their issues. Nick will snarl about Phyllis’ awful testimony. He won’t let Phyllis get away with blaming Christine. When Phyllis contends that she thought their love was worth fighting for, Nick will fire back that he was a fool. He’ll plan to send her belongings to the place of Phyllis’ choosing.
Back with Kyle, Y&R spoilers state that he’ll offer an apology to Summer. Kyle will assure his ex that despite how he’s treated her, he thinks she’s a good person. Talk will turn to the surgery and how Summer’s scared of the risks. Kyle will blurt out that he’ll do anything if Summer will do this – including breaking up with Lola and marrying Summer.
