The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, October 9 Review - Victor Relinquishes Control To Victoria - Cane Pops Up In Vegas

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Wednesday, October 9, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will start her day at Society with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), where she’ll reveal that she was up most of the night concerned about the situation with her father. Billy will push for her to come to work at Jabot, but she’ll turn him down flat and say that she’s wants to be at Newman Enterprises and that she plans to stand her ground with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Later, Victoria will head to Newman Enterprises, where Victor has just noticed the letter opener sticking out of his portrait. Victoria will emerge through the door and Victor will confront her about the portrait. She won’t let herself get drawn into an apology and she’ll tell her father that she won’t be apologizing. Then she’ll refuse to return to the COO position and say that she has terms that he’ll need to listen to.

Victor will listen, and Victoria will tell her father in no uncertain terms that if he doesn’t acknowledge that she belongs in the position of CEO, then their relationship is over, and that she’ll go start her own company and come after him with everything she’s got. Those will be her terms, and Victor’s expression will gradually go from angry and put off to proud. He’ll tell her that he’s proud of her, that she’s clearly her father’s daughter, and that the CEO chair is hers.

Victoria will be stunned by the development, and they’ll embrace as she tells him that she’ll make him proud and thanks him for trusting her with his legacy. It will be an emotional moment for father and daughter as they appear to heal the rift between them. But of course the true test of whether Victor has actually relinquished control of the company will come later, when Victoria’s in the driver’s seat and Victor is supposed to be taking a hands-off role.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Wednesday, October 9, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will tell Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) that he needs to return home, and that he should consider his time in Las Vegas to be just a vacation. She’ll needle him about what a great team they were, as he grows more and more annoyed. Ultimately, she’ll propose a game of five-card draw, and if she wins, he’ll have to answer all her questions.

Well, Phyllis will win the hand and she’ll have all sorts of questions for Adam about his last interaction with Victor and the conditions on which he left. Adam will spill details, and Phyllis will mistakenly assume that his decision to leave was all a big ploy to disarm Victor. Adam will keep insisting that he’s not interested in revenge anymore, but Phyllis will keep pushing.

As they’re talking, there will be a knock at the door, which Phyllis will answer. She’ll be only mildly surprised to see Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) standing there. Cane will smile, and Phyllis will remark that this is interesting. Of course, Phyllis had to know that Cane would soon be showing up, given that she basically followed him to Las Vegas. Talk should soon turn to Chance Chancellor (John Driscoll) – we’ll see if Adam gives up any details about that.
