The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that fans are hoping for positive changes in the months ahead. That means cutting loose some unpopular characters and hopefully bringing back some fan favorites. There are already some good signs – like Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) looming visit and Doug Davidson’s upcoming return as Paul Williams.
However, Y&R viewers would love to see even more familiar faces back on screen. One of those familiar faces might be Greg Rikaart as Kevin Fisher. When Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) revealed Paul’s return to the show, Rikaart supported Davidson’s comeback on Twitter. He passed along some supportive words, which prompted some supportive words in return.
Braden insisted Rikaart “is a great actor and it was downright irresponsible to let him go!!!” Rikaart was clearly touched by the comment. “Thanks for the kind words, EB,” Rikaart replied. “I appreciate you.” Davidson also said, “I don’t suppose you’d consider…” He was obviously hinting that Rikaart should head back to Genoa City as Kevin, which could be a possibility.
Rikaart can currently be seen on Days of Our Lives as Leo Stark, but word has it he’s on his way out. According to DOOL insiders, it seems Rikaart may already be done filming. Days tapes almost six months in advance, so Rikaart’s scenes will continue to air for a while. If Rikaart is free, why not have him make a Y&R comeback along with Paul? Perhaps Kevin could pitch in on some big case.
It’s also be nice to see Kevin and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) catch up. Mariah’s friendship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is sweet, but there’s no substitute for Kevin! Naturally, Kevin would want to see his brother, too. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) would certainly give Kevin a warm welcome home.
Maybe Gloria Fisher (Judith Chapman) could even return since she plays Leo’s mom on Days and there won’t be much for her to do once he’s gone. Perhaps she’ll be a DOOL cast cut, which could land her back on The Young and the Restless. Chapman plays the mom of Rikaart’s character on Y&R as well, and they’re great screen partners. It’d be fun to see Kevin back with all his family and friends.
Rikaart recently attended a celebration for Melody Thomas Scott’s (Nikki Newman) 40th anniversary with the CBS soap. He also received plenty of birthday wishes from his former Y&R costars on Tuesday. Rikaart is still very much connected to the show, so it’d be easy for The Young and the Restless to reach out and make this happen.
