Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) romantic future is up in the air thanks to Ciara Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) looming departure. Although Ben will need some time to get over Ciara and the horror that Eve Donovan’s (Kassie DePaiva) put them through, Ben can’t stay single forever.
It’s certainly possible Konefal will do DOOL return stints here and there, but she doesn’t seem interested in anything long-term. At some point, Days may just surrender and give Ben a new love interest. If so, who might be a good match for Ben?
Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien) is emerging as the frontrunner as Ben’s new love – or at least a partner for passion. There’s evidence to suggest that Gwen and Ben might become a thing in some form. Here are four reasons a Gwen and Ben pairing seems inevitable.
1) Gwen isn’t fazed by Ben’s serial killer past
Unlike many other women Ben might meet, Gwen was unbothered by his serial killer status. In fact, Gwen joked about it and taunted Ben over his dark history. It’s clear that Gwen isn’t the least bit scared of Ben or anyone else for that matter.
That could be important after this brainwashing ordeal Ben’s endured. Knowing Gwen isn’t afraid could help Ben as he reclaims his life following Ciara’s exit.
2) Gabi’s return could push Gwen aside
Days of Our Lives spoilers previously pointed to an intriguing quad featuring Gwen, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash). Since Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) will exit as August winds down and return in the fall, where does that leave Gwen?
Since Gwen and Gabi have such similar personalities, Gabi may take her rival’s place in that quad. It makes sense to slide Gabi in that storyline and give Gwen something – or someone – else to do!
Maybe that someone will be Ben since he’ll seemingly need a new story to keep him busy. Gwen and Ben could help each other out.
3) Tripp’s comeback could tie up two other romantic options
Days insiders reveal that Tripp Dalton’s (Lucas Adams) comeback is also in the works, so that could tie up Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) for a while.
Since Tripp is probably the father of Allie’s baby and Claire’s always had a thing for Tripp, neither one of them may be focused on Ben anytime soon. Ben would be better off steering clear of all that drama and falling for Gwen!
4) Gwen will be battling a broken heart, too
Gwen’s obviously crazy about Jake, even if they drive each other up the wall sometimes. Since Gwen seems poised to lose Jake and Ben’s poised to lose Ciara, why not put these lonely broken hearts together? Even if it’s nothing serious at first, Gwen and Ben might be drawn to each other – if only to find healing somehow.
