Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, July 21 Recap - Claire Sneaks Out - Huge Bomb In Church - Clyde's Mystery Wedding Gift

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 21, reveal that Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) stood in the church practicing her officiant duties. Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) helped Julie, who was worried about everything going right at the wedding.

Doug reassured Julie that everything would be fine, and the two were talking about Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) disastrous wedding to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) when Rafe walked in at the back of the chapel.

After a couple of awkward moments, Doug and Julie told Rafe that they were glad that he was walking Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) down the aisle today. Rafe took off to go wait for Ciara to arrive in the vestibule, and Doug asked Julie if she was feeling better about the ceremony.

Julie said that she was, and she and Doug reflected on how happy they were together. “What would I ever do without you?” Julie said. “You’ll never have to find out,” Doug replied.

Meanwhile, at the penthouse, Belle Black (Martha Madison) arrived and got caught up with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).

Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) emerged from the back room, and Claire told Belle all about being fired as Ciara’s maid of honor and why. Claire was very upset and nearly inconsolable.

After Claire went to her bedroom, Allie and John took off for the hospital to see Ciara, and Marlena talked with Belle privately. Belle asked Marlena if Claire was backsliding, and Marlena said that Claire was terribly disappointed.

Claire came in, and Belle and Claire talked alone. Claire lamented about how she was naïve to think that anyone would accept her, and Belle comforted her tenderly.

At Hope’s house, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) got filled in by Hope about Ciara’s allegations against Claire. Shawn was deeply concerned, and Hope said that her focus needed to be on Ciara today, and that Claire needed to stay away from the wedding. Shawn and Hope hugged sadly.

Shawn then went to the penthouse, where he talked with Belle privately about Claire. Belle said that she didn’t know what to believe about Claire, and that she had been hopeful about Claire’s mental health but that she’s really worried.

Claire listened from around the corner, as Belle and Shawn hugged and Shawn said he was concerned, too.

Claire emerged from around the corner and saw her parents hug, then she got a strange look on her face. Belle and Shawn didn’t realize they had been overheard or seen, and Shawn decided to go to the wedding alone while Belle stayed with Claire at the penthouse.

Later, Belle was alone when Claire walked through the door, having gone somewhere. Belle questioned Claire, and Claire said that she had gone out for some fresh air and had gone “nowhere special.” Claire thanked her mom for believing in her, and Belle and Claire hugged, with Claire looking miffed at her mom as they did.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) entered the living room to find Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) there. Victor said that Ciara was in the hospital and that he wanted to get over there right away. Xander perked up when Victor said “hospital” and offered to drive him.

At the Salem Inn, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) argued. Ben wanted to go see Ciara, and Will wouldn’t let him go, saying that he promised Ciara to keep Ben from going to the hospital.

Over at the hospital, Ciara was in a bed getting IV fluids, while Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) tended to her. Ciara’s lab results came in but were inconclusive as to whether she was drugged.

Ciara got a call from Ben, who learned that Ciara was ok now and could make it to the wedding. Ciara put Sarah on speakerphone, and Ben learned that there was no proof that Ciara was drugged with anything. That frustrated Ben, but he was happy that the wedding could go on.

At the nurses’ station, Xander encountered Sarah, who berated him for sleeping with another woman. Xander was dumbfounded, then he realized that Sarah had been at his hotel room door and had seen his masseuse enter the room.

Xander laughed, since Sarah thought that the masseuse was a prostitute. Xander explained, and Sarah felt silly, then said she believed him.

Xander got hopeful when he heard that Sarah had come to his hotel room to possibly try to work things out. Xander asked Sarah to go to the wedding with him, and Sarah agreed, since they were both going anyway. “But this doesn’t mean that we’re back together,” Sarah said.

Back in Ciara’s room, Victor visited with his granddaughter and heard all about the ongoing saga and alleged wrongdoing by Claire. Victor said he wouldn’t take sides since he loves both Claire and Ciara.

Victor also told Ciara that he wouldn’t be at her wedding, as Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) was still sick with a cold and needed him. Ciara understood and told her grandpa that she loved him. He said he loved her, too. “I hope you have a wonderful wedding and a happy life,” Victor said.

Later, Hope and Allie came to see Ciara to help her get ready for the wedding. Ciara asked Allie to be her maid of honor, and Allie happily accepted. Allie gave Ciara something borrowed – a hair clip that belonged to her grandmother. Hope gave Ciara a blue garter and new flowers for her bouquet.

Ciara just needed something old, and Hope said she had just the thing – a pair of earrings that Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) bought for just this occasion before he died.

Hope and Ciara shared a special moment talking about Bo, and Ciara said that her father is always with her. Soon, it was time to head to the church, and Ciara thanked Allie and Hope, saying that she’d have her drama-free wedding after all.

Back at the Salem Inn, Will and Ben were getting ready when Ben’s phone rang. It was Clyde Weston (James Read) calling from Statesville Prison. Ben accepted the charges, even though Will thought he should tell his dad to go to hell.

Ben spoke briefly with Clyde, then relayed to Will that Clyde was hurt that he didn’t receive an invitation, and that Clyde “sent some kind of wedding gift.” Will then helped Ben with his necktie, and Ben thanked him before the men headed off to the church.

Back at the church, Shawn arrived and greeted Doug in the chapel, explaining that Belle and Claire wouldn’t be attending. Will and Ben arrived in the chapel, as did Xander and Sarah. Xander said he was grateful that Sarah agreed to come with him – it gave him hope.

In the vestibule, John and Marlena arrived, and Marlena wanted a quick word with Ben. Ben thanked Marlena for helping him that morning, and he wondered if he even deserved to be happy.

Marlena put the kibosh on that kind of talk and told Ben that he was a good man and that had worked hard to be a good person. Marlena and Ben hugged.

Hope then showed up in the vestibule, and she talked with Rafe briefly, telling him that Allie was filling in for Claire today. Ciara and Allie walked in, and Rafe told Ciara that she looked stunning in her gown.

Hope asked if Ciara felt ok, and Ciara said that she was about to marry the love of her life and she felt more than fine. The camera then panned down to show a serious-looking bomb hidden behind a pillar in the vestibule.
