Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will soon get a major surprise. As DOOL viewers know, Xander recently got a big endorsement from Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), after he ended up saving the life of Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers). Victor was immensely grateful to Xander, and he told him that he was a “true Kiriakis” and the men shared a key bonding moment.
Xander and Victor have really come a long way since Xander first came to Salem. But despite Victor’s willingness to embrace Xander and make him a key part of the family, Victor still had to strip Xander of the Titan CEO position at Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) insistence.
Xander didn’t like it, but ultimately he had to accept it – after all, he and Victor did Brady dirty when their actions ended up keeping Brady from his daughter.
Well, according to DOOL spoilers, the Kiriakis family will soon regroup, and it looks like it will have everything to do with Brady’s new status as Titan CEO as well as another big development that will take place – Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) will return to canvas.
The new DOOL summer promos showed a smiling Philip standing in Victor’s living room, with Victor as happy as can be that his son is home.
Philip has been off canvas for several years now, although he did appear in the DOOL Digital Series “Last Blast Reunion” a while back. It looks like Philip will think that it’s the right time to return to Salem, perhaps since his father has just been stabbed and at death’s door. Whatever the cause for his return, Philip will be back in a big way.
One has to think that Philip’s return will be a shocker for Xander, who has been used to being Victor’s right-hand man for some time now. Xander has enjoyed a closeness with Victor that Brady hasn’t been willing to have, given his history of problems with Victor.
But Philip may want to walk right back into a close relationship with Victor, and where will that leave Xander?
Xander could feel rejected by Victor, and he could be seriously put off by Victor’s relationship with Philip. Xander might even resent Philip for returning and getting the royal treatment from Victor right away.
Xander might wonder exactly where he fits into the family now that Philip is back, especially if Philip demands a piece of the action when it comes to Titan Industries. That could really rub Xander the wrong way, given that he was just fired from the company.
We’ll see what happens here, but we could be looking at some real tension between Xander and Philip going forward. Do you think Xander will resent Philip’s return to Salem?
