General Hospital Spoilers: Franco’s Fate Reveal, Reason for New Brain Tumor Story – What It Means for Roger Howarth’s GH Future

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) latest health crisis has many fans concerned – especially since we know there are major casting cuts going on. William deVry is out as Julian Jerome, so that’s one big name that’s been fired. Emme Rylan is also out as Lulu Spencer, so no one is safe!

There are other cast cuts on the way according to GH insiders, so everyone’s on edge about losing their favorite characters – or at least curious about who will stay and who will go. Everything’s a bit up in the air behind the scenes right now, so there’s no confirmation on what the future holds.

However, there are some clues that suggest Franco’s medical woes are more about unraveling a mystery than writing him out of the show. At this point, there’s nothing to indicate that Roger Howarth will leave General Hospital.

That could change depending on how this story plays out and ultimately ends, but there’s definitely a purpose to this plot. It’s not just some exit strategy based on what GH Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor told SOD in a recent interview.

Let’s look at what General Hospital’s top scribes had to say: “Elizabeth and Franco are stronger than ever, but they are thrown for a loop due to a sudden medical crisis. What they don’t realize is that this crisis may be the key to unlocking one of the biggest mysteries in Port Charles – something that has been in the works for years.”

There are some intriguing hints we can take away from that info. For starters, it’s a Port Charles mystery, which suggests Franco won’t be shipped off somewhere for special treatment. This also sounds like something Franco and Liz will be part of together – like it’s their new story after that short-lived blackmail drama.

Of course, this is also building to a giant revelation since it’s something General Hospital has kept buried for so long. Could this be less about Franco’s tumor, which is apparently back, and more about exposing Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) crucial role in the memory-mapping project?

That would check off all the right boxes here. It’d qualify as an unraveling secret from the past that’s been in the works for years – and this involves Franco’s brain, which was once memory-mapped with Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) old memories.

Now Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) is calling Peter out of the blue and revealing she’s alive, so it feels like all this could tie together.

What if Franco’s Drew memories resurface? Could a tumor removal surgery be the key to unlocking this mystery the head writers are talking about? Could it trigger something in Franco’s brain and cause him to remember all Drew’s memories?

If so, that would allow Franco to expose Peter’s huge part in the memory-mapping drama. It’d be fitting since Peter feels like Franco is no longer a threat. Peter’s juggling so many other threats that he might not even see this one coming! We’ll fill you in as other GH news and updates emerge.
