General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the show has the perfect opportunity for a twin twist. GH fans know Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has been on a mission to find her long-lost child, but what if it’s actually long-lost children – as in twin siblings who were given heart halves?
There’s always a chance that the necklace Nina wound up with was actually meant for another son or daughter.
Of course, there are several ways GH could take a story like that. One is for the twins to be fraternal, which could leave the door open for Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) to be another bio daughter of Nina’s.
Perhaps Willow was actually Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) twin sister and just doesn’t realize she was stolen as a baby.
However, there’s another option here that might make more sense under the circumstances. Let’s think about this for a second. There was a positive ID on Nelle’s dead body – and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was set to confirm that for himself at the morgue.
We’ve seen Chase since he left GH, and he wasn’t frantically spreading the news about it not being Nelle. That leads us to believe Chase saw Nelle’s dead body and was satisfied. In other words, the woman in the morgue must’ve looked like Nelle.
Nina is set to meet with Phyllis Caulfield soon, so maybe Phyllis can shed some light on the separated pendant. If Phyllis reveals she had the heart halves made for Nina’s twin daughters, that could throw Nina for a loop.
Although Nina will be crushed when she realizes Nelle is her dead child, she might end up on a mission to find Nelle’s identical twin.
That brings us back to the woman who looked like Nelle in the morgue. Was that Nelle or could her twin sister have been swapped in somehow? Nelle can be awfully sneaky, so we wouldn’t put it past her to figure out this twin twist and use it to her advantage.
What if someone claiming to be Nelle’s twin shows up in town? Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) would look like she’s seen a ghost! This person would probably be the total opposite of Nelle – like the sweet, caring woman Nelle pretended to be when she first arrived in Port Charles.
This could create a mystery for both fans and PC residents. Everyone might be left wondering if this was really Nelle’s twin or just another one of Nelle’s plots. If Nelle’s twin just so happens to only have one kidney as well, there could be suspicions about this so-called sister of hers!
From there, General Hospital writers could decide whether they’ll leave this as Nelle’s twin sis or reveal her as scheming Nelle herself. It might be an interesting way to take things now that Nelle’s corpse has supposedly been found. We’ll offer updates as other details emerge.
