General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is doing what she feels she must – and that’s ending her relationship with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Of course, we have to acknowledge that there are some flaws in Sam’s plan.
For starters, any decent enemy of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is going to do his research. Take Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), for example. Cyrus already knows that Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) is Jason’s son. Dumping Jason won’t suddenly make Cyrus oblivious to his family connections.
The truth of the matter is Danny and Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri) are in danger whether Sam and Jason are involved romantically or not. Julian Jerome (William deVry) doesn’t have much contact with his kids or grandkids, but Cyrus sure used them against Julian.
If a baddie wants to target someone’s family, he or she’s going to target someone’s family. Someone’s relationship status won’t affect that. In other words, denying herself Jason’s love may only cause suffering for Sam. She may be making a sacrifice that isn’t really going to help in the end.
That could be something Sam eventually comes to realize, so that could make Sam second-guess her decision to push Jason away. Of course, Sam probably hasn’t thought far enough ahead to think about Jason moving on either.
Will Sam be able to handle it if she has to watch Jason fall for someone else?
Port Charles isn’t that big, so Sam and Jason are inevitably still going to run into each other. What happens if Jason gets together with someone new – someone like Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud)?
Could Sam get jealous and once again battle doubts about whether her decision to end “JaSam” was the right one?
Even if Sam stands by her choice and moves on with her life, that doesn’t mean she can just turn off her feelings for Jason. Sam’s only human, so it’d be natural for her to get jealous of Jason’s new connection with Britt.
Jason and Britt seem poised to have a romance down the road, so that may be something Sam just has to learn to live with.
Then again, there’s always a chance Sam will change her mind and decide “JaSam” love is worth fighting for. Sam could try to win Jason back sooner or later, so that’s an option to keep in mind, too. Whatever happens, you can bet things will be complicated between Sam and Jason from now on.
