General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Wednesday, July 29, tease that a drama-filled encore’s coming up for GH fans. The ABC soap will re-air an episode that originally aired on May 19, 2020. This one’s got some exciting conflict, serious threats and a whole lot more!
Here’s what you have to look forward to if you’re tuning in and getting ready for next week’s new General Hospital episodes.
For starters, Julian Jerome (William deVry) refuses to let Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) intimidate him. Sonny pushes for answers about the dirt Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) has on Julian, but Julian refuses to offer it up. When Sonny demands an annulment, Julian refuses to take orders from his enemy.
At Crimson, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) hears the marriage news and grows concerned. Nelle argues that Julian knows he has to play by her rules, so Nina realizes he was blackmailed into being Nelle’s husband. Nelle contends that they simply made a deal and wants confirmation that she can count on Nina in court.
Nina suggests testifying is something she can do for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), so a grateful Nelle hugs her. As Nina looks over Nelle’s shoulder, she seems troubled.
At the Metro Court, Diane Miller (Carolyn Henessy) speaks with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) about Nelle’s new hubby.
Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) appears and spars with Carly, who points out it’s Martin’s funeral if he dares to use Sonny against Michael. After Martin wonders if that’s a threat, Carly downplays it as a figure of speech. Diane backs Carly up, but she isn’t happy about Carly running her mouth and causing trouble.
At Turning Woods, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) talks to Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), who was hoping to offer a proper apology in person. Franco has to settle for this phone call since Liz has to work and can’t make it over to Charlie’s Pub.
Liz mentions Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) helping her work through her issues over Franco’s hurtful comment, which annoys Franco.
Later, Liz eavesdrops on Nikolas as he speaks to Mike Corbin (Max Gail) by his bedside. Once Nik is done, Liz brings him hearing him talk about Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel). Nikolas still can’t bring himself to tell Spencer they’ll lose the Cassadine estate if he divorces Ava Cassadine (Maura West).
After Nikolas discusses his regrets, Liz points out he’s trying to make things right now. Nikolas winds up talking to Liz about Ava and Franco growing closer during their portrait-painting sessions.
Sonny spots Nikolas as he’s leaving and mentions Spencer’s ultimatum. When it comes to Nik’s problems, Sonny thinks Nikolas dug his own grave when he decided to tie the knot with Ava.
Liz eventually gives Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) her honest, expert opinion about Mike’s condition. In Liz’s experience, patients in Mike’s position have given up. Elizabeth feels like Mike’s just trying to hold on for Sonny’s sake. Liz thinks it’s best if Sonny tells Mike it’s OK to let go. Afterward, Jason updates Sonny on what he’s learned from Liz.
At Charlie’s Pub, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) warns Franco that Nikolas can’t be trusted. Franco bumps into Nikolas at the boxing gym soon after. When Franco assumes Liz has forgiven Nikolas, Nik wonders if that’s a problem. Franco tries to act nonchalant about Nikolas and Liz’s friendship, but Nik does his best to rile him up.
At GH, Franco arrives with a bouquet and a sincere apology for his dumb comment about Liz not being a real artist. Liz once again insists she’s over it and credits Nikolas for helping her. When Franco inquires about how Liz would categorize her relationship with Nikolas, she rolls her eyes and stomps off.
