General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap star is speaking out about some big casting cuts. After the news broke about William deVry (Julian Jerome) and Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer) reportedly getting the boot, Rylan essentially confirmed her own firing. Although Rylan couldn’t flat-out say so, she made plenty of comments on Instagram that let fans know it wasn’t her decision to go.
Of course, that leaves William deVry. What’s the deal with deVry? Is Julian staying or going? Let’s look at what deVry had to say on his Twitter account recently.
After a fan praised deVry’s work and insisted he’d be back as Julian, deVry insisted he wouldn’t return if he left GH. “If I go I go,” deVry said. “No return. That’s a promise..love the fans.”
Another fan commented on the “if” part of that statement and insisted on holding out hope until the news was confirmed. “Time will certainly tell. No poker face needed on my end,” deVry tweeted. One more GH watcher asked when deVry’s final airdate was, so he simply said that was “TBD.”
In a different tweet, deVry echoed the earlier idea that he wouldn’t come back to General Hospital if he left. Someone pointed out that no one dies in Port Charles, but deVry disagreed. “Ha. If I do I do for good. That’s also a personal decision,” deVry argued – at least about his version of Julian.
There was also a cryptic tweet involving NBC’s The Blacklist. After deVry expressed surprise that it was still on the air, he seemingly dropped a hint about what’s happening at GH. “I remember they did something similar to ahem…mass cast bye bye episode…I was out,” deVry said.
It sounds like deVry was hinting at the explosion disaster that’s coming up on General Hospital. That’s the kind of thing that could result in some presumed deaths – or desperate escapes. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for Julian to disappear under the circumstances, so things might be up in the air as far as Julian’s fate.
Whatever the case, deVry wanted to make one thing clear to fans. “Regardless of what happens… I’m not being fired,” deVry insisted. “Just FYI. AND….if one of us were to be fired…. I’d rather it be ME since ol’ @japastu has kids to support. Family over self.”
Based on deVry’s comments, it sounds like he’s implying that he’d walk over failed negotiations. Although deVry contends that he isn’t being fired, all signs do point to him being out at the moment. We’ll give you updates as more details emerge on this developing story.
