General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans were baffled by a recent clue. Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) noticed the half-heart pendant necklace Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was holding, so she mentioned it during her Crimson visit. Nina worked herself into a bit of an emotional tizzy as she explained, but she ultimately suggested Willow didn’t come for that.
Now that Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) has been revealed as Nina’s biological daughter, we have to wonder what that Willow clue was all about. It’s possible it was just General Hospital’s attempt to throw viewers off track before the true revelation. However, there may have been a good reason for Willow’s remark.
Most fans guessed that Willow had a half-heart pendant half in her possession. That’s clearly not the case since Nina has one half and Nelle has the other. So what’s the story here? What if the real point of that scene was simply to make sure Willow saw the necklace and heard the explanation?
Willow was able to see how emotionally affected Nina is about all the missing daughter drama. We also know Willow will do absolutely ANYTHING to protect Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson). Willow pretty much thinks Nelle’s the worst person to have ever lived.
Wiley comes first, so Willow may not want someone else on Nelle’s side – someone like a vulnerable mom who’s wanted a child for as long as she can remember. Nina could be a troubling wildcard that Willow would rather avoid. Will Willow spot Nelle wearing the necklace and start putting this together?
There’s a chance Willow’s already started, which could be why she had that reaction in Nina’s office. It’s possible General Hospital will do a newly created flashback where Willow eventually remembers seeing the pendant on Nelle’s neck.
Regardless, it’d be a great idea for Willow to make this discovery and hide it from Nina. Why? For starters, GH established major conflict between Willow and Nina from the get-go, so this is an opportunity to rev it up again.
Can you imagine how furious Nina would be if she realized Willow knew the truth and kept quiet? It would be a pretty low blow considering the pain Nelle and Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) deception caused Willow. Of course, Nelle is evil in Willow’s eyes. Willow could contend that Nina was better off never knowing the truth at all.
Nina obviously wouldn’t see it that way, so Willow could make matters worse. This would also serve as Willow first big transgression. Willow is a squeaky-clean character who could stand to do something wrong – and it would indeed be wrong to keep Nina’s biological daughter a secret from her.
Someone has to be the first character to put the puzzle piece together. Why not Willow? If Willow indeed uncovers the Nina-Nelle shocker and hides it, you can bet Nina will unleash her wrath. This could reignite Nina and Willow’s feud big time!
