The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that many fans are anxiously awaiting the reunion of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Bergman has been vocal about his support of the pairing – and Phyllis will need another love interest once her relationship with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) falls apart once again. Will Y&R trade “Phick” for “Phack” on new Y&R episodes?
It may take some time, but history tends to repeat itself when it comes to popular couples of the past. There’s a good chance Jack and Phyllis will reunite down the road, so let’s mull over some strategies The Young and the Restless could use to make it happen. Here are three ways to pull Phyllis and Jack back together.
1) Phyllis comforts Jack over Dina’s death
Phyllis considers Jack to be one of her closest friends. In fact, Jack’s one of her only friends! Since Phyllis cares so much about Jack, you can bet she’ll be there for him after Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) death.
Jack will be vulnerable and will undoubtedly feel a hole in his heart. It’s easy to imagine Jack trying to fill it with Phyllis, especially if she consoles him and strengthens their connection.
2) Jack plays referee for Phyllis and Abby
Since Phyllis and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) insist on having an eternal battle, they’ll probably be back at it again in new Y&R episodes. Phyllis got an idea thanks to something Jack said about bones, so she may plot against Abby once more.
Jack might feel the need to get involved since he inadvertently sparked this plan. He’s perfect person to intervene since Abby is his niece and Phyllis is his pal.
Of course, Jack might become more than friends with Phyllis after spending extra time together. Anything that offers more airtime for Jack and Phyllis could bring them closer. Nick had better watch his back if Phyllis and Jack are around each other too often!
3) Phyllis’ Jabot comeback
What about having Phyllis make a comeback at Jabot? Jack’s a forgiving guy, so it’s possible he’d be willing to give Phyllis another chance there. As a bonus, that’s where Phyllis’ daughter works! Can you envision Phyllis and Summer Newman (Hunter King) clashing on the job? That sounds like a lot of fun.
Jack might have to intervene in that situation as well, but working with Phyllis could make Jack feel like they’re a great team. Maybe Phyllis and Jack could blur the lines between business and pleasure eventually.
Whatever the case, it’d be nice to see something different for Phyllis. She needs to do more than insult people in the Grand Phoenix lobby.
