The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) childhood trauma will naturally affect his relationship with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). When Adam told Chelsea about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) claims, Chelsea instantly worried that Victor was telling the truth. She tried to cover up her concerns, but it’s clear that Chelsea fears Adam killed AJ Montalvo as a boy.
Obviously, that’s not something that would change Chelsea’s perception of Adam, but it could change Adam’s perception of himself. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will want to give Adam all the love he needs once he confirms Victor’s story.
Adam may have to take a long, hard look in the mirror after memories start to resurface.
Will Chelsea and Adam’s relationship survive the storm that’s brewing? Let’s look at what Mark Grossman had to say in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest. “I think Chelsea is more concerned about Adam uncovering something that could uproot his whole life,” Grossman said. “Adam is hoping Chelsea will be on his side, but I’m sure she’s afraid of what this could mean for them.”
If Adam pushes Chelsea away, what happens then? Chelsea might keep trying or she might turn elsewhere for comfort. In other words, pushing Chelsea away just might push her right into the arms of another man! Adam may regret not leaning on Chelsea and letting her in when he needs her.
It all depends on how Y&R writers choose to handle this once the show gets back in production. Many “Chadam” fans would like to see Adam and Chelsea stick together through the crisis.
However, it may not be that simple. As Grossman pointed out, this revelation comes with a sense of uncertainty. Adam’s trauma could just as easily pull Chelsea and Adam apart – at least for a while.
Could Chelsea be driven back in Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) direction under the right circumstances? What about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Chelsea’s ex and fellow Newman outsider?
Could there be someone new who steps up to comfort Chelsea in her time of need? These are all good questions to ponder we await new Y&R episodes.
