The Young and the Restless spoilers has some news to pass on about a former Y&R star. Daniel Goddard, who portrayed Cane Ashby on the CBS soap, recently shared a quick hello to all his fans on Twitter. The sweet video was simply a check-in to see how everyone was doing during this time of self-quarantine.
Daniel recorded the video in his car, and captioned it: “Thinking of you…” In the video he said: “I just want to reach out and send you some love and just let you know that I’m thinking about you and your families and just…I want you to know that this is going to pass. This will pass.”
Daniel continued: “Last year was a very hard year for me. I lost one of my best friends. And I lost a job I loved. But you know what? The best is always yet to come. The best is always yet to come. Know that. No matter what you’re going through now, it shall pass. But believe that the best is always yet to come. My love to you and your family. Stay safe and be blessed.”
Daniel has received an outpouring of replies to his nice message. Eric Braeden, who portrays Victor Newman, replied quickly, saying: “Be cool brother!! Hugs to you and your family!!!”
Shortly thereafter, Eric reflected about Daniel and a couple other Y&R actors whom he misses. Eric tweeted: “Two good friends are no longer on the show, KRISTOFF, who passed away, and DANIEL GODDARD, who is a damned good actor and SHOULD BE WITH US!!! Miss them both, along with DOUGIE DAVIDSON, who isn’t on the show ENOUGH!!!”
We miss Daniel on the show as well, and we especially wonder where Cane is. There haven’t been any recent Cane mentions on the show. As Y&R viewers will remember, Cane was last seen when he took off trying to find Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) in the hopes that he could get Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) fortune back for him.
Well, as it turns out, Devon did get his fortune back, but as was explained on the show, Colin was actually tracked down by Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and whether Cane had anything to do with that is unknown at this point. It’s a shame – we’d have rather seen Cane successfully track down Colin and be the hero!
At any rate, Daniel’s followers have been responding happily to Daniel’s video message, and to his kindness and positivity. “What an amazing message,” one follower said. “Thank you so much! Why can’t everyone be like Daniel Goddard? He’s a man of loving, caring, and kindness. I thank God for you. God bless you and your family.”
And another person commented: “We miss you and Cane, and will always miss Kristoff as well. It’s really good to see your face again, and hear that you are remaining positive of all the good things that are still to come. All the best to you & the family.”
