The Young and the Restless Spoilers: David Hasselhoff's Snapper Teased As Sharon's Father – Sharon Case Points Out Huge Problem

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease the David Hasselhoff (William Snapper Foster), who last appeared on Y&R in 2010, could be revealed as Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) father. This daytime reality would be challenging to implement within the history of the show, but does offer highly intriguing potential.

Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) recently interviewed Case on Instagram. When asked who could be Sharon’s father Case suggested Hasselhoff, due to the established nature of that character in Y&R’s history.

However, the actor who’s played Sharon since 1994 did mention a particular romantic connection her character once had that would need to be addressed if Snapper is revealed as the dad.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Snapper Has Two Known Children

Hasselhoff’s career was just getting started in the 1970’s, when he joined the cast of Y&R. He was the recast in the role of Jill Foster’s (as then played by Brenda Dickson) brother that was first played by William Gray Espy (Snapper).

Snapper, a nickname derived from his rough personality, was put through medical school by Jill. She also funded their brother’s, Greg Foster (as last played by Wings Hauser), law school education.

The character Hasselhoff came to play is known to have two children. Snapper’s son is Pierre Chuckie Roulland (Marc Bently), who he had with Sally McGuire (Lee Crawford). Snapper’s daughter is Jennifer Foster (Erin and Ramona Richter), who he had with Chris Brooks (as initially played by Trish Stewart and last played by Lynne Topping Richter).

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Hasselhoff’s Star Power

Those who hadn’t seen Hasselhoff on Y&R likely became aware of the actor when he zoomed to stardom (pun intended) in the role of Michael Knight on the hit nighttime show, Knight Rider.

Hasselhoff’s character was shot in the face at the start of the series. He was rescued by a wealthy man, who paid for reconstructive surgery and provided him with a new identity. Knight was given KITT, which was actually a modified Pontiac Trans Am.

The car was equipped with artificial intelligence and a voice, actor William Daniels, who was once part of the cast of The Doctors and the Nurses, a prime time series that became a daytime soap opera, The Nurses, in the mid-1960s.

Of course Baywatch represents Hasselhoff’s most successful run as an actor. He starred on the original edition of that worldwide hit as Mitch Buchannon from 1989-2000. Hasselhoff is also well known as a singer, theater performer, and reality show star.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – So, Why Not Snapper?

Case mentioned that there is one plot point that would need to be addressed if Hasselhoff is ever asked to return to Y&R, where Snapper would be revealed as her father. As has recently been seen during the show’s classic episodes, Sharon and Billy Abbott (as then played by Billy Miller) had a brief romantic interlude.

So the show’s writing staff would have to use soapy magic, as Jill (as now played by Jess Walton) and Snapper’s children would be connected. Maybe the assumed brother and sister would discover that they were never related?
