The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) will take on a new role in the months ahead. Y&R viewers know Davidson as Ashley in Genoa City, but The Young and the Restless star will tackle another exciting part on an upcoming film. It turns out the film’s subject matter involves something Davidson’s quite familiar with: soaps and fans!
Blake Berris (ex-Nick Fallon on Days of Our Lives) asked Davidson to be in a new movie he’s making called Fangirl. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Davidson discussed what happens in the film and what kind of role she’ll be playing in it. The Y&R actress and Days alum seems thrilled about what’s in store.
“It’s about a fan who travels to a soap convention to meet her soap idol, who Blake will play,” Davidson said. “I play a soap opera actress who’s a little jaded and likes to put other actors in their place.” Although the part isn’t a huge one, Davidson thinks this is going to be a fun project.
However, Davidson did admit there have been a few production snags and might be a few more. “Everything was put on hold because of the pandemic, but we are having a table reading by Zoom soon, which I’m really looking forward to,” Davidson said.
She called filming this project “tricky” since so much of it takes place at a soap convention – and they obviously can’t shoot large group scenes right now.
Even so, Davidson is hopeful that it’ll all work out. Of course, Y&R fans will look forward to seeing Davidson back on The Young and the Restless as well! As other news emerges on upcoming new episodes, we’ll provide updates.
