The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will take steps to help her young granddaughter Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in the new year. As Y&R viewers know, Faith recently had two instances during which she drank alcohol with her friends.
On one occasion, Faith and Jordan (Madison Thompson) drank enough vodka at Jordan’s parents’ house to make them seriously hungover the next day.
Of course, what makes Faith’s drinking quite concerning is that she did it in part to cope with the difficulties she’s had over the past few months. Faith has had a tough time with the other teens at school, and she’s regularly been ridiculed via text message by other girls.
That’s been difficult to take, and on top of it, Faith had the exposé on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to deal with as well. The exposé was tough to handle as is, but then Faith started getting mean comments from the other teens about the exposé itself.
The comments and memes about Faith have been pretty ugly, and Faith apparently found some solace in drinking, since it allowed her to both escape and do something that the other teens found to be “cool.” But that’s a dangerous way to try to cope with problems.
Well, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) found out about Faith’s drinking and put their foot down about it, but it sounds like Faith might start up again.
Certainly, the cyber bullying hasn’t stopped, as Faith is still the subject of mean memes and texts to this day. It looks like Faith might dip into the booze again, probably at the urging of Jordan.
But when Nikki finds out about Faith’s drinking, it seems that she’ll take the bull by the horns and act to school Faith on the dangers of using alcohol to cope with life problems.
As you may know, Nikki is an alcoholic and she abstains from alcohol completely. Y&R spoilers say that Nikki will step in when she hears about Faith’s drinking, so Faith is going to have to deal with her grandmother’s concern.
And while Faith might not want to initially have this type of conversation with Nikki, she might just find out that Nikki knows more than she initially suspects.
Nikki will probably express understanding toward Faith, and perhaps what she has to say will ring true for the teen, especially when it comes to using alcohol to cope with life problems.
At any rate, Y&R viewers should be in for some intense, and probably touching, scenes between Nikki and Faith. Perhaps Faith will feel like she can open up to her grandmother in a way that she can’t with her parents.
