The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) is going to have a big opportunity come her way. As Y&R viewers know, Summer is currently working in marketing alongside Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Jabot.
Summer and Kyle work closely, but lately that’s been a problem since Summer broke off their engagement. Summer and Kyle have continued to be professional about the whole thing, but it’s still a strain.
Well, during the week of November 16-20, Summer will get a big surprise when Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) sits Summer down for a chat and asks her to be the person who leads Jabot Collective into the future.
Y&R viewers will remember that Jabot Collective used to be Jabot’s line where fashion was tied-in with Jabot cosmetic products.
It was stated on a recent episode that Jabot is in the process of selling Jabot Collective, also known as JCV, to Fenmore’s. That would mean that Summer would be jumping ship from Jabot over to Fenmore’s and away from her job working side-by-side with Kyle. Summer will likely jump at the offer.
Assuming that Summer does take the JCV job, there’s going to be one person who most certainly won’t be happy about it, and that’s Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Sally previously told Lauren that she’d be the perfect person to run JCV for Fenmore’s, but Lauren said that she had someone else in mind. That was quite a blow for Sally, who just wants to get her foot back in the door in fashion any way that she can.
Sally’s probably not going to be thrilled to learn that the person Lauren chose was Summer, especially since Summer’s background in fashion is not nearly as extensive as Sally’s.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally will fume as she continues on as Lauren’s lowly assistant while Summer gets this great fashion job that Sally thinks should have been hers.
Y&R spoilers say that Sally will soon form some sort of alliance, and that could have to do with her desire to get Summer out of the top spot at JCV. Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) previously offered Sally a deal to help her get the JCV job, and Sally turned that alliance down.
Perhaps Sally will revisit that arrangement with Theo now once Summer lands the JCV position.
Sally may want some help scheming to sabotage Summer’s role at JCV, and Theo would be a good person to scheme with! Sally may even want to arrange a situation where Summer totally fails on the job and Sally swoops in to save the day and prove her worth.
That sounds like something Sally and Theo might cook up.
We’ll see what happens here, but something tells us that Sally won’t just let the matter drop once Summer accepts the JCV job. Sally’s going to want that position for herself, and we’ll see how far she’s willing to go to get the gig!
