The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) live tweeted during a classic episode of Y&R (from June 2012), where she and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) were battling for Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) attention. This show included the famous fight both ladies had in the stables at the Newman Ranch, their arrest, and imprisonment in the same Genoa City, Wisconsin, cell.
However, Case didn’t note that scene as her all-time favorite during her social media session. The longtime Y&R actor said, “I really like the JT storyline, I loved that party at Victoria’s and then JT was killed and we wrapped him in a rug!!! Was so fun!!”
As fans recall J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) was thought to have been killed by Nikki, who was acting in defense of her daughter, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). The complex storyline later included J.T.’s seeming return from the dead.

The virus pandemic caused Y&R to shut down production in mid March. The last new episodes were shown in April, with repeat (classic) shows being seen since. Various theme weeks have followed, including the rival’s episode that Case was living tweeting about.
Responding to comment about when she and her castmates will be able to resuming filming Case said, “We@all can’t wait to get back to work. Idk exactly when but we hope it’s soon.”

Y&R’s writing staff, Case, and her colleagues all deserve credit for how they’re handling Sharon’s current cancer storyline. The serious topic has allowed a projection of vulnerability and a nuanced response that surely allows the audience to engage on a deep level.
Not everyone defeats cancer, as all viewers know. But here’s hoping that Sharon does. This legacy character remains a vital part of the show and Case’s presence is treasured.

Combining show history and the lack of any information about Case’s contract not being renewed, it’s far to assume that Sharon will live. Of course, that’s an opinion, which is what has always driven this genre as passionate fans know.
Case’s connection with the audience, as evidenced through her most recent social media interaction, has been built since she debuted on the show in 1994. Hopefully a safe return to work scenario is possible in the near future.
