The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) cancer storyline ranks with the most pressing that need to be addressed when new shows are recorded and broadcast. Y&R anticipates resuming production on July 13. If all goes well, the next new episode could be available as early as mid August.
Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer in what was one of Case’s most serious storylines in awhile. The audience has been holding its breath since the last new episode was aired in late April. Sharon was about to have surgery that was needed because a course of chemotherapy treatment hadn’t gone as well as was hoped.

It’s always possible that Case decided to leave the show and that this will be her final storyline. Secrecy about that choice could have been maintained throughout the shutdown, with what would be a truly sad ending for one of Y&R’s legacy characters.
However, it would seem overly challenging to keep news of this nature under wraps. The lack of even speculative stories seems to indicate that Case is happy at her daytime home, has no issues with her contract, and will be part of the cast indefinitely.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Rey Rosales Becomes Next Husband?
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) fell in love with Sharon the first time he saw her at Crimson Lights. He was married to Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) during the summer of 2018, when he arrived in Genoa City, Wisconsin, and was working an undercover assignment.
Case’s character broke up with Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall) the year prior, as his interest in Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) became known. Sharon’s desire to be with Rey developed slowly, as she and Vilasuso’s character waited until Ria split before they officially started Shey.
Sharon loves Rey, who has proven to be a dependable man in her life. Whether they marry is questionable, as this connection isn’t long-standing.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Cancer Free By Late Summer
Assuming Case remains with the cast as expected, Sharon will surely beat cancer. The anticipated resolution to that storyline can be resolved in a variety of ways, of course.
The end of this arc gives Y&R a chance to either allow Shey to become one of Sharon’s post-cancer chapters, or to allow her to take what would be another new direction. No matter the decision, Case’s twenty-six great years of work on this iconic soap opera provide confidence that further memorable work will follow.
