The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the CBS soap’s return to production has once again been delayed. According to Deadline, Y&R is pushing back their tentative restart date. They were originally hoping to get back up and running on July 6, but now they’re shooting for July 13 instead.
Of course, this new restart date is also tentative, so it could change like the one before it. Nothing’s a done deal right now due to COVID-19 and the changing circumstances surrounding it.
California has seen a spike in test positivity and hospitalization rates due to the rise in cases. Restrictions are tightening in the state, so it’s not surprising that Y&R’s going to hold off on resuming production.
The situation will have to be closely monitored, so we’ll give you updates as other news comes in. Nevertheless, many Young and the Restless fans are certainly hoping it’ll indeed be safe for the cast and crew to film again by July 13. If all goes well and they can make it happen, when can viewers expect new episodes to air?
If the restart date holds firm and doesn’t get pushed back again, then it’s probably safe to assume Y&R could deliver new episodes in August. When The Bold and the Beautiful resumed production on June 17, they were hoping to air new episodes by early-to-mid July.
That was before a brief production pause due to some testing hurdles, but B&B got back in action again on June 24.
Since B&B’s estimate was for early-to-mid July based on that initial June 17 restart, Y&R’s July 13 restart could put new episodes on the screen by early-to-mid August. However, nothing’s set in stone while we wait for The Young and the Restless to officially resume production.
