The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, April 23 Update - Victoria Back As CEO - Adam's In Denial - Mariah & Theo Bond

The Young and the Restless spoilers update for Thursday, April 23, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be at Society ordering take-out when Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) comes along. Theo will quip that perhaps Mariah is ordering food for a party to celebrate him getting fired from Jabot, but Mariah will snip at him. Theo will apologize for bothering Mariah and walk away.

Later, Mariah will apologize, saying she’s not having the best day. As they talk, Theo will realize that Mariah is worried about Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and he’ll gather that Sharon’s sick.

Theo will share that when his mom was sick, he cared for her, and he wouldn’t take back that time for anything. Mariah will be touched, and she’ll say that her relationship with Sharon was a lot like his relationship with the Abbotts.

Mariah will share about how she came into Sharon’s life as an adult, and that she wasn’t always the nicest human being. Mariah will lament that Sharon could not make it, but Theo will encourage her to stay optimistic.

Later, Mariah will bring Theo some food for being so nice about Sharon, and the two will launch into a conversation about Theo’s firing.

Mariah will be kind and won’t judge Theo, and she’ll tell him that perhaps Jabot isn’t the right fit for him, anyway. Theo will say that he’s not sure that he’ll be able to find his ideal gig in Genoa City, and soon Mariah will go.

Theo will walk by a table where Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) are talking about catering to a younger demographic at Chancellor Media. Theo will immediately perk up.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Thursday, April 23, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will argue at the ranch. Victor will be ruffled because Nikki told Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) the story of AJ Montalvo’s death, and Victor will tell Nikki that she’s partly responsible for this mess.

Nikki will protest, saying she had to tell Victoria the truth so she wouldn’t act against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Victor will bellow that Victoria ran right to Adam, and so the damage was done.

Victor will gripe that he was in the process of dismantling all of Adam’s leverage, but it was all blown up because of Nikki. Nikki will say that Victor has a point, but that Adam is a predator who continually acts against the best interest of the family, and that if Victor can’t see it, then he’s in just as much denial as Adam.

At Adam’s penthouse, he will regroup with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), telling her the whole story about getting fired from Newman Enterprises and about the AJ story that Victor told him.

Chelsea will be stunned, and Adam will go on about how Victor is spinning the facts into a warped story, but Chelsea will clearly be worried that the story may be true. Chelsea will try to hide this from Adam.

Soon, though, Adam will realize that a part of Chelsea may think the story is true. Chelsea will carefully ask Adam what he remembers about that time in his life, and he’ll wonder how clear her memories are of being 11 years old.

Chelsea will say that she’s just shocked that all this is happening, and together they’ll vow that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) can never hear about any of this.

Of course, the fact that Chelsea and Adam are adamant that Connor can’t know about the story probably means that he’ll find out soon enough. Something tells us that Victoria isn’t going to let the story go, so she might just have it published to ruin Adam.

However, the person who would probably be the most affected by the story would surely be Connor. Connor is a sensitive little guy, and he’d probably be horrified to learn about his father killing someone.

Next, back at the ranch, Victoria will arrive, and Victor will blast her, saying that she hung him out to dry by running to Adam. Victoria will balk, and she’ll argue that she’s the one who paid the price here.

Victor will say that there was no need to shatter Adam’s life, but Victoria won’t apologize. Ultimately, Victor will reinstate Victoria as CEO, but he’ll say that she’s lost his respect. Victoria will say that she can live with that.

Victoria will then head to the office, where she’ll walk in and notice her father’s picture has been taken off the wall. Victoria will sit at the desk, while back at the ranch, Nikki will see Victor in clear pain over Adam knowing the truth, and she’ll go comfort him.
