The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that some fans are interested in seeing another side of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) moving forward – at least for a while. Y&R fans know Victor has settled into retirement nicely. Victor enjoys spending extra time with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and doting on his grandchildren, but some viewers feel like Victor needs his edge back.
When Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) blackmailed Victor into giving him the CEO position, Victor let him do it. That naturally outraged Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who was already filling the spot before Adam swooped in. Where was The Moustache when he needed to be there?
After Victoria’s actions forced Victor to reveal the AJ Montalvo truth to Adam, Victor gave the CEO chair back to Victoria.
Although Victor admitted Victoria had lost his respect, he still let Victoria have her way. Victor’s allowing his children to run the show! What’s happened to Victor and why are his kids walking all over him? Victor used to be a take charge kind of guy who truly ran the Newman clan.
This Kansas secret is clearly something that Y&R writers just invented, but we have to accept it as part of the story now. With that in mind, it’s crazy to think Victor’s been sitting on a secret like this for so long.
It makes no sense that Victor would’ve hid the truth about killing AJ from Adam – all while doing things like framing Adam for Constance Bingham’s (Sally Kellerman) murder.
This AJ shocker does highlight the deep love Victor has and has always had for Adam, but maybe Victor’s going a little too soft. After all, Victor was willing to let Adam believe he was dead to teach him a lesson not too long ago.
That was a pretty cold and drastic strategy. Perhaps The Young and the Restless needs to get a firm grip on what Victor will or won’t do to his children.
Regardless, Victoria feels like Victor’s been coddling Adam lately – and maybe he has. Is it time for Victor to get his edge back and show Adam who’s boss? Should Victor make Adam work to repair their broken bond? This seems like the perfect opportunity to light a fire in Victor and bring out that true Newman fierceness.
