The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, April 22 Review - Alyssa Ditches Victoria & Flees- Adam Out As CEO - Theo’s Birthday Woes

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Wednesday, April 22, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) won’t believe what he’s just heard from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). As Y&R viewers know, Victor has just told Adam that he was the one who killed AJ Montalvo all those years ago in Kansas. Adam will blast Victor, saying that this is a low move, even for him. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will intervene, but Victor will send her out of the room.

Victor will then tell Adam that there is only one way that this will end, but Adam will warn Victor that he’ll be the one who will suffer the consequences. Adam will listen as Victor talks about how Adam had to become the man of the house at age 11, but Adam won’t buy any of it. Instead, Adam will say that Victor probably manufactured evidence that he killed AJ.

Adam will decide that he’s heard enough and will go to leave, but Victor won’t let him go. Adam will lash out, saying that it’s ridiculous to think that he committed a cold-blooded murder as a child. Victor will then say that it wasn’t cold-blooded; rather, Adam was scared out of his mind. Victor will say that AJ confronted Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) and that Adam tackled him to protect her.

Adam will then applaud with bravado, saying that none of it ever happened because he doesn’t remember it. Victor will say that’s because Adam blocked it from his memory.

Victor will go on to say that he was there that night and saw Adam after the incident, and he was white as a sheet and nearly catatonic. Victor will admit to getting the farm caretaker to move the body and paying off the coroner.

Adam still won’t buy the story, saying that his mother never tried to get him help or treated him any differently, but Victor will say that’s because Hope was glad that he blocked out the memories.

Adam will be furious, thinking that Victor expects him to step down from Newman Enterprises. Victor will say that there’s no proof he was involved in the murder.

Adam will disagree, saying there’s a money trail leading straight to Victor. Victor will say that it’s all because of Adam that this story is going to come out, and that he tried to protect Adam. Victor will then tell Adam that the job is no longer his, and that if he tells the story, his life will be ruined. “We’ll see,” Adam will say.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Wednesday, April 22, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will continue her discussion with Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) at the Grand Phoenix. Victoria will assume that Victor threatened Alyssa, and Alyssa will say that he didn’t have to. Victoria will offer to protect Alyssa, but Alyssa will say she’s not scared.

Alyssa will be stunned to realize that Victoria knows about Adam killing her father, and Victoria will say that it doesn’t change anything. Alyssa will be horrified by Victoria’s attitude, and she’ll say that Adam is still that 11-year-old boy in her mind.

Victoria will say that Adam doesn’t deserve a free pass, and that 11-year-old boy doesn’t exist anymore.

Victoria will say that Adam manipulated Alyssa and yet Alyssa still wants to defend him, and she’ll even question whether Adam might actually remember what happened.

Victoria will say that Adam is a lying bastard, and Alyssa will say that they should have compassion for him. Victoria will beg Alyssa to stay and publish the true story, but Alyssa will refuse, and she’ll bolt.

Well, even though Victoria will look completely upset now that Alyssa is gone, that doesn’t have to stop her from uncovering the story. Victoria could very easily hire another reporter or private investigator to dig into the case and get some hard evidence of Adam’s guilt.

Victoria could still get her story if she wanted to use it against Adam, and it certainly seems like she’s out to do so – it just might take her a little more time to do so without Alyssa.

Next, at Jabot, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will talk about Kyle’s big win against Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Summer will be happy, but Kyle will seem a little unnerved, and Kyle will explain that he’s feeling conflicted since Theo used to be a friend. Kyle will say that it’s complicated and that while he doesn’t regret baiting Theo, he’s still family.

Theo will suddenly walk in the room to turn in his security badge, and he’ll take the opportunity to needle Kyle about how he must be enjoying this, Kyle will stay out of the fray, although Summer will seem like she’s ready to needle Theo right back.

Kyle will step out of the room for a call, and Summer will blast Theo for squandering the opportunity that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) gave him.

Soon, Kyle will come back, and Theo will start needling him again, but Kyle will take the high road, telling Theo that he’ll be successful wherever he ends up. Afterwards, Theo will call Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and leave her a message saying that he got fired from Jabot and that he could really use one of her goofy pep talks right now, since today’s his birthday.
