Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that some new details on Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) exorcism have been revealed, so let’s talk about how John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), Belle Brady (Martha Madison), Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and more will join forces for a family effort.
DOOL fans know the devil feels unstoppable this time around. Armed with new tricks and more willpower than ever, possessed Marlena has no intention of surrendering to the power of love.
John once vanquished the devil back in the ‘90s – or so he thought. However, it didn’t stick and that means something different must be done during this possession reboot.
John needs to get rid of the devil for good and make sure there’s no chance of Marlena being reinhabited.
Of course, John wasn’t a real priest when the original possession story played out. Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) has speculated that perhaps that’s what allowed the devil to possess Marlena once again.
Thankfully, Eric has gone back to the priesthood and can take charge of the exorcism during his return stint.
Even so, it’ll take more than just John and Eric teaming up. Since the devil inside Marlena has gained so much power, her family will need all hands on deck!
Days spoilers say Brady will ultimately score his release from jail, so he’ll be able to pitch in on this.
Belle and Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) will help Eric out as well, so it’ll be nice seeing several siblings come together here.
It turns out Marlena’s grandkids will even get involved.
DOOL spoilers state that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) will get in on this family mission, which is great since they’ve been such a big part of the possession story so far.
Johnny almost made a movie about his grandmother’s possession, but now he’ll be an active part of helping Marlena get rid of the devil that’s taken over her mind and body.
Allie will be right there with her twin brother, so that’ll bring more family love fuel – and that’s the key to driving the devil out.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean the devil will be gone just yet. Days insiders hint that he could stick around and possess another Salemite or two before things wrap up, so we’ll see how it all plays out.
