General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, October 1 Recap – Esme’s Creepy Visit to Ryan – Spencer’s Stalker Confession Enrages Nikolas

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, October 1, reveals that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) paid a creepy visit to Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) while Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) stalker confession enraged Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

At Spring Ridge on Friday’s GH episode, Ava Jerome (Maura West) talked to Ryan about how she used to wish he was dead. She felt this was so much better and grabbed Ryan’s ear to yank it hard. As Ava was leaving, she ran into Esme – leaving them both stunned to see each other.

Esme once again offered her interest in psychology as an excuse and talked about wanting an internship there. She pointed out that although it was a prison, it was a minimum-security one and had a lot of interesting cases. Ava realized Esme meant Ryan and warned he was dangerous. Esme didn’t see how since Ryan was locked in, but Ava argued that even blinking was risky with Ryan.

Ava told Esme to consider herself warned and started to leave, but Esme flashed back to Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) hint about Bora Bora. When Esme mentioned Ava heading there, Ava was confused and confirmed that wasn’t where she was going.

Esme said that was her mistake and approached Ryan after Ava dashed off. As Esme smiled, she suggested she was sorry for the delay and thought Ava would never leave. Meanwhile, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) remained furious at Wyndemere and thought Nikolas was lucky he came home when he did.

If Sonny had returned after Nikolas took off with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), he wouldn’t have stopped until Nik was dead. Nikolas didn’t understand any of this since there was no trip. He assured Sonny he wasn’t planning on leaving town with Ava and Avery.

Nikolas wanted Sonny to take his wild accusations and leave, but Sonny wasn’t going until they had an understanding. It quickly became clear the thugs were going to beat Nikolas up.

Next, Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) showed Spencer the pic Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) sent of Esme meeting with Sonny. Spencer barged in the living room to save Nikolas and the other teens soon followed.

Cameron and Trina explained how they lied about the Bora Bora flight as a trap to prove Spencer and Esme stalked Ava. However, they were quick to point out the Avery part came from Esme. After Sonny learned Josslyn was in on the plan with Trina and Cameron, he expected an apology. Nikolas felt Cam and Trina owed everyone one of those – and he also wanted an apology that Sonny refused to give.

Nikolas thought they’d been over this and had ruled Spencer out as the stalker, but Spencer finally confessed it was true. The roach, the teddy bear, all of it… Nikolas didn’t understand since Spencer was with him when Ava’s car was burned, so Spencer admitted that was Esme. He lied that he put Esme up to it and that she was only acting out of loyalty to him.

Sonny was appalled over Spencer using Avery as part of his scheme, but Spencer promised there was no threat to her. Once Spencer was alone with his father, Nikolas blew up at him for ruining the life he was building with Ava – a life that they wanted to make Spencer part of. Nikolas begged Spencer to tell him this wasn’t true right as Ava walked through the door and became curious.

At home, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) avoided spilling the news of Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) romance with “Mike.” Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) could tell there was more, but they were interrupted by Josslyn’s arrival.

Jax explained how he found out Sonny was alive and revealed that Carly blamed him for not coming forward sooner – especially due to the wedding. Josslyn tried to push for peace and truly hoped Jax was done with Nina permanently.

When Sonny caught up with Carly at home, he explained he got everything squared away with Dr. Sullivan. Sonny wondered if something was on Carly’s mind, so Carly said it was actually someone: Nina.

At Kelly’s, Nina explained she’d been ignoring Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) texts because she was spending time with Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Caleb and Kyler Ends), which was all too precious now. Maxie was sorry for blabbing to Carly, but Josslyn put her on the spot.

After Maxie assured Nina that she didn’t go into the romantic details, she suggested Sonny was trying to protect Nina since he hadn’t told Carly yet. Nina wasn’t so sure, but she knew the ball was in Sonny’s court now. Although Nina’s head had accepted she had to move on, it wasn’t so easy for her heart.

After Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) had a legal meeting with Scott Baldwin (Roger Howarth), he met Nina before she took off. Maxie was happy to let Austin keep her company, so he took a seat and chatted with her.

As for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), she pried a confession out of Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth). Ned admitted there was more tension in his marriage because Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) didn’t agree with Austin’s advice about getting Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) a specialist.

Brook Lynn learned that Austin had observed behaviors that suggested Leo might be on the autism spectrum – though Austin was careful not to offer a diagnosis. That’s what the specialist was for.

Brook Lynn argued that Leo was just shy and felt like Austin was using Leo to manipulate Ned. BLQ thought Austin was trying to distract Ned from the court case – and later, she marched up to Austin at Kelly’s for a confrontation. Brook Lynn hurled accusations over Leo and made it clear Austin wasn’t part of her family.

Back with Ned, he was surprised when Leo came into the living room and immediately became fixated on a toy. Ned repeatedly tried to get Leo’s attention and ask what happened since he was supposed to be in bed. Leo wasn’t very responsive at all – confirming that Austin was right to recommend a specialist.

Finally, Nina ran into Scott outside Kelly’s, where he lectured her for getting Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) involved in the Peter August (Wes Ramsey) drama. Scott offered his card and suggested there’d be two ways of dealing with things when it came to the Corinthos clan. One was legal and the other Scott hinted at using a throat-slicing motion.

Scott felt like Nina had fallen for Sonny, who was dangerous – though Carly might be even more so. We’ll offer updates as other GH details become available.
