General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is keeping a shocking secret – and it’s only a matter of time until she gets caught! Who will be the first to figure out what Nina knows about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), who’s presumed dead in Port Charles and living a new life as “Mike” in Nixon Falls?
Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) is perhaps a strong contender as the first person to put it all together. GH fans know Phyllis considers Nina a close friend. She spent plenty of time caring for Nina during her coma and has been quite supportive to Nina in the aftermath of Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) death.
Of course, Phyllis feels guilty for her role in the illegal adoption. She feels somewhat to blame for the terrible path Nelle ended up on – as well as the fact that Nina never got a chance to really know her daughter. Phyllis’ guilt could become an important part of the story as this hot plot moves along.
Nina decided to pretend she didn’t know who Sonny was when she first showed up at The Tan-O. Although Nina was rattled over the sight of Sonny and had many questions about “Mike,” Phyllis remained oblivious to their Port Charles connection.
Now Phyllis has been playing matchmaker and seems to like the idea of Nina being a couple with Sonny. General Hospital spoilers say Phyllis will face a shocker during the week of April 19-23.
There’ll be something that catches Phyllis off guard, but Nina will do her best to stay calm following this surprise for Phyllis.
Could some new puzzle piece emerge for Nina? It’s possible Elijah Crowe (Dan White) will find out the link between Nina and Sonny, which could lead to stirring up trouble with it.
Elijah could easily mention something to Phyllis about Nina knowing “Mike” before she showed up in Nixon Falls, even if he doesn’t go into the details.
Whatever the case, General Hospital has the perfect setup for Phyllis to uncover Nina’s secret. One way or another, Phyllis may realize “Mike” is from Port Charles just like Nina. This could leave Phyllis eager to give Sonny and his family updates, but Nina might insist that’d be a mistake.
It’d be easy for Nina to argue that Sonny was a dangerous mobster and had a far worse life back home. Plus, Nina has the ideal way to guilt-trip Phyllis into keeping her mouth shut. Phyllis already feels so awful about the illegal adoption that she’s been taking in strays all these years.
Nina could easily remind Phyllis that she played a role in keeping her daughter from her. She may insist she has her reasons for not wanting Sonny back in PC.
Nina might work to convince Phyllis to make things up to her by keeping quiet, but will Phyllis be willing to let “Mike” remain the dark on his true identity?
