General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) efforts to protect The Tan-O could put him in danger. GH fans know the bar was robbed and heavily vandalized, so Sonny’s been mulling over the mystery of who’s behind it.
Sonny pointed out it wasn’t the first time The Tan-O had been targeted since he previously stopped a different robbery.
However, Sonny noticed just how much damage there was this time around – like someone wanted to do as much damage as possible.
Sonny doesn’t think Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) have seen the last of The Tan-O’s troubles, so he has no intention of leaving them in a lurch.
Of course, this presents the possibility that Sonny will encounter someone armed and dangerous. It happened during that first robbery and it could’ve happened with this one if Sonny hadn’t gone off to help that drunk patron.
Phyllis was glad Sonny wasn’t around to get hurt, but what if that’s a clue that he’ll indeed get hurt next time? There’ll indeed be a next time if Sonny’s hunch is correct – and GH viewers know Sonny’s pretty much always right!
Since Sonny’s been speaking rather ominously about what’s ahead for The Tan-O, it seems like the prime setup for a third incident that’s the most dangerous of all.
There might be a situation where Phyllis and Sonny’s lives are on the line. Sonny might have to play the hero and put his own life at stake in the process.
General Hospital already did an explosion storyline not too long ago when Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) had Julian Jerome (William DeVry) plant a bomb in The Floating Rib. It’s probably too soon to take the explosion route again, but it’s still an option to consider.
A fire is another possibility if the person targeting The Tan-O decides to just burn the place to the ground. That’d be a cruel move after Lenny and Phyllis start to repair the bar with Sonny’s help.
It just seems like whatever happens will have to up the ante – and it’s hard to top the disaster area that was just left behind. There’ll need to be something BIG as the third strike on The Tan-O, so we’ll see what ultimately plays out.
Regardless, Sonny has basically vowed to put himself right in the middle of the trouble. Sonny’s devotion to Phyllis and Lenny could lead to him having another near-death experience. It’s easy to imagine Sonny getting injured – maybe even through a major blow to the head.
Could this turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Sonny? Could Sonny end up facing a memory flood after another head injury?
We’ve got the recipe for it through extreme danger and Sonny’s need to get his memories back, so that might be the plan GH writers have in mind. Mike Corbin (Max Gail) might even pay Sonny another ghostly visit to help “Mike” remember he’s Sonny once again.
