The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) may be driven to make a desperate mistake. Ever since Finn debuted, he’s been pretty much the perfect man. Finn is handsome, patient, kindhearted and mature.
Finn also focuses on only Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), so many fans have wondered if Finn might be a little too good to be true.
Even characters with strong morals tend to make mistakes sooner or later on The Bold and the Beautiful. Name a B&B character who’s been a saint like Finn permanently. Can you think of one? It just doesn’t seem realistic for Finn to remain a completely good guy forever.
If this were real life, it’d be a lovely idea for Finn and Steffy to simply live happily after, but living happily ever after makes for a boring soap! At some point, Finn needs to screw up.
That’s especially true now that Steffy has cheated on Finn with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). The pressure’s on for Steffy to be perfect unless Finn makes a massive blunder of his own.
If Finn also makes a mistake that’ll come back to haunt him, it’ll level the playing field. Taking all that into consideration, let’s think about where Finn’s storyline might go next.
Finn actually went pretty easy on Steffy following the revelation of her betrayal. He’s still crazy about Steffy and trying to work on forgiveness as the goal.
Liam, on the other hand, got put on full blast. Finn’s adamant that if Steffy’s next baby is his, things are going to change. He feels like Liam consistently takes advantage of Steffy’s weak spot for her ex. Finn wants to protect Steffy and keep Liam from doing all this emotional damage.
The only way Finn can break the cycle is if that baby belongs to him, but what if it doesn’t? What if the baby actually belongs to Liam? That puts Finn at a serious disadvantage in protecting Steffy from Liam. It also goes against Finn’s dreams of being a dad and puts his future with Steffy in jeopardy.
Of course, we also know Finn works at the hospital and could presumably score access to the lab with ease. If someone’s going to change the paternity test results, then Finn makes a ton of sense as someone to do it.
Finn will likely have means, motive and opportunity, so is that the route B&B will take for his character? Will Finn change the results to make sure they say this is his baby?
This could set up Finn and Steffy’s happy family planning – that is until the truth about the potential paternity switch comes out. It might be Liam’s turn to blast Finn down the road, and Steffy would have to decide if she could get past Finn’s deception.
It’d flip the situation around on Finn and let him work to win Steffy back next time around.
