The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will collapse over Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) death proof after a bombing seemingly leaves no survivors. Let’s talk about the difficult moments ahead for Abby and how she’ll cope in the aftermath.
For starters, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) will show up with some terrible news she really wishes she didn’t have to deliver. Abby has been hoping Chance would wrap up his mission and finally come home to meet his son, but there’ll be a horrible change in plans.
It turns out the area where Chance was staying was bombed, so Christine will have to give Abby some tragic updates. No one seems to have survived this bombing, but Abby will be in denial over Chance’s sudden demise.
Christine will admit some items that belonged to Chance were found and backed up his death, but Abby will insist there’s no proof without a body.
Since Abby won’t want to believe Chance is gone forever, she’ll keep hope alive as long as this remains a presumed death instead of one with a confirmed corpse.
While Christine is off gathering more information, Abby will lean on her loved ones for support.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will be there for Abby initially, but Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will offer comfort soon after.
None of them will really know how to help since Abby will be so determined to believe Chance is still alive.
Unfortunately, Christine will return with another round of awful news.
This time Christine will have some photos of the bombing site, so a nervous Abby will examine them until one in particular sends her world crashing down.
Y&R spoilers say Abby will keel over from the shock and despair she’s feeling, so it sounds like that picture will seal the deal on Chance’s death for her.
Of course, we should note that even photographic evidence isn’t enough to confirm Chance is gone for good!
Soaps are certainly known for bringing people back from the dead – especially without a body to corroborate things.
However, it’s smart for the show to give Abby enough evidence so that she can move on and perhaps face Chance’s shocking return down the road.
In the meantime, Abby will lean on Devon in particular as she grieves.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby will ultimately accept that she’s a widow, so that could open the door for Devon to take Chance’s please as Abby’s main squeeze.
