The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could get sole custody of Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) and take his son to Italy to build a blissful family with Summer Newman (Hunter King). Now insiders point to Kyle exiting along with Summer, the show has a bit of a dilemma to tackle.
Summer accepted the creative director position at Marchetti due to Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) threats, but it really was an amazing opportunity.
When Kyle inevitably finds out the truth, Summer’s not going to give this gig up. It wouldn’t make sense considering the show’s already established this Italy exit for Summer – not to mention it would be highly unprofessional to bail.
Kyle already made suggestions about co-parenting across continents back when he was trying to work things out, but Summer had good points for why it wouldn’t work.
Summer doesn’t want Kyle missing important milestones or resenting her for all the time he’d be spending away from Harrison.
If Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) is really dying, Harrison’s going to need Daddy Kyle more than ever. That’s something else for Kyle to keep in mind.
Kyle made a commitment to stepping up as a father, so he’ll want to honor that and give Harrison the best upbringing possible.
Let’s look at the puzzle pieces here and see where Y&R might go with Kyle’s exit. We’ve got Summer, who needs to stay in Italy – and Kyle, who needs to be near Harrison.
We’ve also got Tara, who has dirt in her past that could be used against her based on the hints the show’s offered. If Ashland ends up dead, he’s a non-issue in all this.
The easy solution is for Kyle to score sole custody and move to Italy with his little boy. Kyle could still allow visitation with Tara, but he might want to keep her influence to a minimum under the circumstances.
Tara is extremely manipulative and was willing to use her own son as a bargaining chip to get what she wanted. There’s no doubt that Summer would be better as Harrison’s main mother figure.
Summer could take on the role of stepmom and truly bond with Harrison in Italy. Milan might become where Kyle, Summer and Harrison get a new beginning as a family. It’d wrap all this up neat and tidy to explain the “Skyle” departure.
