The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may ultimately regret stirring the pot! Y&R fans know Phyllis needled Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about his love for both Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), who just became Sharon Rosales thanks to that New Year’s Eve wedding.
Phyllis acted like Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was her better half, but she planted doubts for Adam about whether his own was Sharon or Chelsea. That felt like the kind of conversation that might come back to bite Phyllis eventually.
Phyllis referred to Chelsea as Adam’s consolation prize, so she may be due for some soapy romantic karma down the road.
After all, Nick hasn’t exactly been a one-woman guy over the years. Sharon and Chelsea are both Nick’s exes, but it’s Chelsea who Nick stands the best chance of reuniting with.
Wouldn’t it be great payback for Phyllis if she had to watch Nick and Chelsea grow closer again? It could happen based on the storyline that’s playing out right now.
Once Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer, Nick immediately stepped up for her. He was a huge part of “Team Sharon” and was there for his ex every step of the way. Now Chelsea is facing a health battle of her own.
Chelsea suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that’ll lead to a stroke and plenty of further struggles. The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Chelsea will be left partially paralyzed and unable to speak, so what’ll come next?
Chelsea took a tumble in the Chancellor Communications elevator following the building’s blackout, which Adam caused. Since Chelsea’s brain aneurysm symptoms started soon after, Adam already feels guilty. We’ve seen that Adam tends to push Chelsea away when he feels like he’s not good for her.
Although Adam will try to support Chelsea, it may be hard for him since he feels responsible. Adam will place blame on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to cope with that pain, but that won’t make his own guilt go away.
Just like when Adam was struggling over killing AJ Montalvo, he’ll lean on Sharon in the coming weeks and perhaps shut Chelsea out emotionally.
Likewise, Chelsea may not feel like she can really talk to Adam about what she’s going through. The Young and the Restless spoilers say she’ll blame Adam for this tragedy so who’s she going to talk to instead? Nick would be an excellent option here.
It’d be out of character if Nick didn’t visit Chelsea in the aftermath of her medical ordeal. After all the support Nick gave Sharon, there’s no reason to think he won’t support Chelsea, too.
Nick still cares about Chelsea and his nephew, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), so he’ll surely want to let her know he’s there for them both.
This could bring an opportunity for Nick and Chelsea to reconnect – first as friends, but then maybe more. It all depends on where Y&R writers want to take the story.
Phyllis and Nick are already having some issues in their relationship due to the money he gave her for the hotel. Additional problems could be brewing since Phyllis plans to sink Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), which The Young and the Restless spoilers say will inevitably hurt Newman Enterprises.
Phyllis could potentially make it easy for Nick to swing his affections back toward Chelsea. As Adam and Sharon bond again, Chelsea and Nick could do the same – leaving Phyllis out in the cold! We’ll give you updates as other Y&R news becomes available.
