The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, September 8 Recap – Abby Panics Over Missing Mariah & Dominic – Ashland’s Best Man

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 8, reveals that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will panic over missing Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor. Meanwhile, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will pick a best man and catch Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) by surprise with the request.

At the penthouse on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will talk to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about the deep bond he felt with Dominic right off the bat.

Lily will sense the shift in Devon, who’ll promise he has no regrets about stepping up to help Abby and Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) have a child.

Devon will admit that he mostly feels sorry for Chance now since he’s missing moments he’ll never get back. When Chance returns, Devon will think it’s going to hit Chance hard.

Devon will admit Chance doesn’t even know he has a son since he’s so deep undercover. Lily will feel certain that Chance will be grateful to Devon for looking after Abby and Dominic once he comes home.

At the Chancellor mansion, Mariah will offer to watch Dominic while Abby helps out at short-staffed Society.

Abby will seem uncomfortable, but she’ll leave Dominic in Mariah’s care anyway. Once Mariah’s alone with the baby, she’ll be overwhelmed as she struggles to get Dominic to stop crying.

Next, Abby will return after finding someone else to work. She’ll quickly start to panic when she can’t find Mariah or Dominic anywhere.

After Abby calls Devon, she’ll admit Mariah and the baby are gone. Abby will insist she’s trying not to freak out, but she’ll be concerned since there won’t be a note – and Mariah’s phone will be there nearby.

Once Devon reassures Abby, he’ll promise to be right there. Fortunately, Mariah will come back with Dominic in his stroller. She’ll explain that she called Dominic’s pediatrician, who said a walk can help lull the baby to sleep.

Abby will point out that there was no note or anything, so Mariah will apologize and guess her brain just short-circuited due to hormones.

However, Abby will seem on edge and a bit annoyed since the last time Mariah disappeared with the baby, she was gone for three weeks.

After Abby admits she almost called the police, Mariah will once again apologize and assure Abby she was just out for a walk on the grounds with Dominic.

When Devon arrives, he’ll get updates on the false alarm and praise Mariah for following her natural instincts to seek advice from the pediatrician.

Abby will overhear Mariah talking about how this “being a mom thing” isn’t for wimps, so that’ll leave Dominic’s true mom looking uneasy.

At Society, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will get a proper introduction to Ashland before they sit down along with Nate and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

After Nate gushes about the cutting-edge technology in the surgical wing, talk will turn to Victoria and Nate’s upcoming wedding.

After Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arrives, she’ll listen to Victoria talk about her wedding dress and how she may have to go with another designer if Angelina Marchetti can’t do it.

Meanwhile, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) won’t be pleased to learn Adam is going to see “that Spectra woman” again.

Adam will defend his night with Sally as working dinner and won’t pay attention to Victor’s attempts to slam the redhead. Once Adam walks in Society, he’ll speak to Victoria and her party briefly before joining Sally.

There’ll be some flirting as Sally acts like she’s glad they downgraded to a working dinner since Adam was 20 minutes late.

However, Adam won’t have much to say about the design Sally shows him. She’ll wonder if maybe Adam agreed to this non-date because he was hoping the news would get back to someone and make her jealous.

Adam will counter that maybe Sally was hoping Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) would hear as well, but she’ll admit she hasn’t thought about Jack once since she sat down.

Sally will add that she’s been too busy having a good time, and she’ll think Adam’s having a good time as well – whether he wants to admit it or not.

Back with Ashland and Nate, they’ll share a nice bonding moment while Elena and Victoria are freshening up. Ashland will find out Nate had a fiancée who died, so he’ll guess that’s why Nate isn’t squeamish about his diagnosis.

Once Nate and Elena head back to Victoria and Ashland’s place for a nightcap, Ashland will stun Nate with by asking him to be his best man.

Nate will feel like Ashland must have closer friends in New York, but Ashland will argue that they’re mostly professional connections.

Ashland will urge Nate to think about it and will insist they’d love to have both Nate and Elena at the wedding.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will have Chinese takeout as they discuss Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) instincts being spot-on when it came to Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).

Jack will think Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) owe Phyllis their happiness.

After Jack opens his fortune cookie, he’ll reveal that it predicts his love life will soon be happy and harmonious.

Jack will mention that Kyle and Summer are now planning to have a small civil wedding ceremony in Italy. Jack will think the two of them have everything they need to be happy, but Lauren will wonder about Jack.

Lauren will suggest that Jack needs some passion to fill his heart – though she’ll add that it doesn’t have to be romantic passion.

Jack will reflect on how he felt being a grandparent and will tell Lauren that there’s nothing like it.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack’s love life will come with some shockers in the coming episodes, so stay tuned.
