Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, July 22, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) new roommate while Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) had a fierce father faceoff. Let’s talk about how all the Days drama played out.
First on Friday’s DOOL episode, Shawn apologized for how he handled things with Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) and got an apology from Belle Brady (Martha Madison) for sleeping with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Since they were both sorry, Shawn wondered where that left them.
Moments later, Shawn received word on Governor Mitchell’s (Richard Bramhall) pardons and filled Belle in.
Belle called Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to make sure she was on guard against Orpheus (George DelHoyo), but Shawn reassured her about no harm coming to their loved ones.
At Statesville, Evan was pleased over Orpheus’ deal with Governor Mitchell working out, but Orpheus snapped that it was no thanks to Evan!
Orpheus pointed out that the governor almost didn’t go for the demands Kristen snuck in.
Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) appeared and expressed his gratitude to Orpheus over the pardon he’d been granted, which wasn’t part of the press conference and had been tacked on at the end.
Rolf learned Kristen was the one who pushed for this and was tickled pink about imminent freedom.
Meanwhile, Kristen returned to her cell and told Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) about her pardon.
Gwen was stunned as Kristen revealed that she’d scored a pardon for her, too.
Kristen pointed out that Gwen helped her escape before – and although she was blackmailed into that, Kristen still felt she owed Gwen and considered her a friend.
Gwen jumped for joy and pulled Kristen into a hug as they awaited their official release.
Once everyone was dressed to leave, Dr. Rolf thanked Kristen for arranging his own pardon.
Kristen knew Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) wouldn’t want Dr. Rolf behind bars – besides, Kristen thought he might be useful to her on the outside and vowed to be in touch.
Kristen also hinted to Gwen that she was a better match for Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) than Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and suggested their freedom provided a chance to go after what they wanted.
In a fun moment, Days fans saw Orpheus, Evan, Dr. Rolf, Kristen and Gwen all leaving Statesville – ready to unleash chaos on Salem.
At the Salem PD, Sarah admitted she was on a drug to counteract the effects of another drug that caused hallucinations.
After Sarah recapped her Kristen visions – including the one where she held a knife on Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) – Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) considered the possibility that Sarah mistook Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) for Kristen and attacked.
Jada also hinted that Sarah must’ve been angry about that dropped syringe that started this mess, but Sarah kept all the blame on Kristen and insisted she didn’t want to hurt Abigail.
Sarah also denied being at the DiMera mansion that night and figured Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) must be lying or mistaken.
Since Sarah wasn’t under arrest, she pushed Jada to let her leave.
Over with Xander, he fumed over another derailed wedding and complained to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) about Jada’s treatment of Sarah.
Rafe pointed out Sarah was just a person of interest and felt like if she wasn’t responsible, she could still help them get to the truth.
After Sarah was released for now, she expressed her fears to Xander in the town square.
Sarah didn’t know how this day could get any worse, but then Gwen appeared nearby with updates on her pardon.
At Jake’s apartment, he fished to find out if Ava had anything to do with Kristen and the others getting pardoned.
Ava insisted she didn’t, but she liked the fact that Jake thought she might have that kind of power.
After Jake talked about his previous conversation with Kristen and how she wanted to collaborate, Kristen showed up at the door.
Since Kristen needed a place to stay, she decided this would do and made herself at home.
Back with Dr. Rolf on Friday’s Days episode, he raised a glass to Stefano’s portrait and said he could continue important work thanks to Kristen.
Dr. Rolf then made his way down into the DiMera tunnels.
After Rafe learned about the pardons, he offered to fill Jada in on the villains’ histories.
Orpheus crossed paths with Rafe and Jada outside the pub, but he assured them that he planned to be a model citizen.
Once Evan got the original paternity test results from Orpheus, he barged in Shawn’s place and wanted his son.
Evan explained that he was the true father of Jan Spears’ (Heather Lindell) baby, but Shawn didn’t believe him and refused to believe these DNA results either.
Evan stood by his claim that Orpheus tampered with the first outcome, but he ultimately vowed to get a court order for a new paternity test – which Belle said they would fight.
On his way out, Evan made it clear that Daddy would be coming back for little Shawn Christian.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Evan will keep fighting to raise his baby boy, so more trouble’s brewing for Shawn.
