Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, September 19, teases that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) reunited while Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) was under suspicion. Clyde Weston (James Read) and Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) also got engaged, so here’s how all the Days drama played out.
First, Nancy overheard Clyde on the phone and realized there was something he didn’t want her to know.
When Clyde claimed he was talking to Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), Nancy seemed skeptical.
After Nancy ultimately confronted Clyde about the phone call and his illegal dealings, Clyde insisted she had it all wrong.
Nancy then demanded to know if Clyde was cheating, but he confirmed that Nancy was the only woman for him.
Clyde eventually revealed that he just didn’t want Ben to spoil his engagement surprise. Once Clyde pulled out a ring and popped the question, Nancy got emotional over feeling so loved and wanted.
Clyde kissed Nancy after she accepted his marriage proposal, but their celebration was derailed when Craig walked in the pub.
Meanwhile, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) showed up at Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) motel room and begged for help.
Gwen threatened to call the Salem PD or even notify Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) personally, but she ultimately agreed to hear Leo out.
Leo knew the person framing him must be someone who really hated him – someone with a major ax to grind.
Although Leo initially thought it was Nancy, he later realized she seemed incapable of murdering Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and stabbing Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker).
Gwen suggested Jackie Cox aka Darius Rose, but then she learned Darius had been deported and couldn’t have done it.
Leo finally settled on the person he felt confident was responsible – and then Days cut to Craig showing up in the pub.
At the hospital, Sonny admitted to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) that he didn’t think Leo was guilty – at least not of killing Abigail and stabbing him in his office.
After Sonny relaxed and thought back to just before he got stabbed, he remembered hearing a noise behind him and smelling vanilla.
Sonny was sorry he couldn’t be of more help, but Chad and Will were just glad he was OK.
At the Horton house, Xander paid Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) a visit to reveal there was already trouble in paradise.
Jack got updates on Sarah dumping Xander over the one-night stand with Nicole Walker Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) and his decision to blow up her anniversary party for $1 million.
Although Xander came for Jack’s advice, he eventually understood he had to clean up this mess on his own.
Talk turned to Abigail’s murder investigation, so Xander confessed that he was skeptical about Leo being the culprit.
Once Xander was gone, Chad met up with Jack and revealed that Sonny didn’t think Leo was to blame.
Jack commented on the fact that Xander was just telling him the same thing.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah insisted the honeymoon was over and filled Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) in on why she left Xander.
Maggie pointed out that Gwen could take this opportunity to pounce, so Sarah flew off the handle over her mother even mentioning her.
Besides, Sarah didn’t think Xander would take Gwen back knowing what he now knows.
However, Maggie basically acted like Sarah was being harsh under the circumstances.
Since Maggie didn’t hold Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) past mistakes against him, she didn’t think Sarah should hold Xander’s against him either.
In Xander’s hotel suite, he was frustrated over his attempt to write an apology text.
When Sarah walked in, Xander asked if she was back to pack up more of her stuff.
Sarah insisted she was bringing her suitcase back instead.
After Sarah made it clear she’d decided to stand by her commitment to Xander, he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
Xander assured Sarah that she made him a better man and promised not to pull any more stunts.
This DOOL couple was happily reunited, but how long will their renewed bliss last?
