General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 3 Recap – Peter Awakens from Coma – Tracy Drops Luke Bomb on Laura

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, January 3, reveals that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) awoke from his coma while Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) dropped a devastating Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) bomb on Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Here’s how all Monday’s shocking action played out.

On the footbridge, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) admitted to briefly thinking Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) – or maybe just wanting him to be.

Drew thought back on his time bonding with Jason on Cassadine Island and acknowledged that he might be a painful reminder for Carly.

However, Drew also wondered if maybe Carly blamed herself for what happened to Jason.

Carly admitted she could’ve given Jason a reason to stay in Port Charles, but Drew asked what she would’ve told him. He did his best to offer comfort, but Carly was more interested in being left alone.

Meanwhile, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) took Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to an apartment he owned.

Sonny poured himself another drink and urged Nina to leave since she’d done her part by playing designated driver. He has no intention of making things worse because they couldn’t get any worse.

“Hi, honey! I’m home!” drunk Sonny shouted. He told a sentimental story about the place he’d owned since 1994 and then wondered why he was telling Nina all this.

Nina assured Sonny she wasn’t his enemy, but he felt she should’ve given him a heads-up about Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) overhearing them.

Nina tried to get Sonny to stop drinking since he was going to have a terrible headache in the morning.

Sonny argued it was his headache to have and that he’d earned it. After Nina admitted she didn’t know how to help, she started to leave until Sonny called out to stop her.

Sonny struggled to explain how things had gone down with Carly earlier, but Nina didn’t need an explanation since he wasn’t with his wife right now.

After Nina suggested maybe it was for the best that the truth came out, Sonny lashed out at her – only to soften moments later.

Sonny felt there was nothing Nina could do since Carly couldn’t get past what he kept from her.

Nina felt that what happened between them was buried in the ashes of The Tan-O. On her way out, Nina expressed her hope that Sonny and Carly would work through this.

At Charlie’s Pub, Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) caught Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) staring at a glass of Champagne.

After distracting Alexis with her own problems, Harmony dished out some tough love and seemingly renewed their friendship.

At The Savoy, Laura spoke to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Mac Scorpio (John J. York) about her Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) concerns.

Laura was hopeful about using Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) newfound connection to Victor in their favor.

Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) also cornered Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) about finding Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt).

Maxie felt confident that her little girl would be back in her arms by this time next year.

In a moment alone, Felicia made amends with Anna and suggested she was serious about tracking Louise down.

Felicia hoped they could find some new lead that hadn’t been uncovered yet, but Maxie looked on edge nearby.

At GH, Victor showed up after visiting hours, so Britt pushed his buttons. Victor pushed right back and taunted Britt a bit about Jason’s death.

After Peter woke up and grabbed Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) arm, the doc came out and let Victor know that Peter wanted to see him.

Victor approached Peter’s bedside, where they called each other out on their betrayals.

Nevertheless, Victor thought they should let bygones be bygones since he was the only person in the whole wide world capable of helping Peter.

Victor felt there would be another attempt on Peter’s life, so he offered protection.

Victor felt this was the best and only deal Peter was going to get at this point. In exchange for protecting Peter, Victor wanted to know how he could get what he needed from Drew and spoke of “the key.”

Peter wanted Maxie and his daughter first, so he was clearly trying to play hardball.

Meanwhile, word of Peter’s coma awakening spread at The Savoy.

After Maxie got updates and came to GH, Austin promised that Peter would never be a threat to her or Louise ever again.

As for Mac, he barged in Peter’s hospital room to shut down his conversation with Victor.

Once Laura made it home with Kevin, there was an unexpected knock at the door. Laura was taken aback over Tracy’s visit since it was after midnight.

Tracy got choked up as she admitted that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was gone, so Laura gasped in horror over the news.

General Hospital spoilers say Luke’s death will deliver even more drama, so stay tuned for some gripping scenes.
