General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we’ve got some Steve Burton divorce news to pass along now that the ex-GH and Days star is officially ending his marriage. According to TMZ’s acquired documents, Burton is taking the next step following his separation and is filing for divorce.
Burton, who previously played Jason Morgan on General Hospital and can be seen in Peacock’s Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem series as Harris Michaels, listed his separation date as March 1.
The popular soap actor also pointed to irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split – though fans are already in the loop on at least some of Burton’s marriage drama.
Back in May, Steve Burton revealed his separation from Sheree Gustin and made waves with another big announcement.
Once the news spread about Gustin being pregnant with her fourth child, Burton clarified that he wasn’t the father on Instagram.
Now that Burton is moving ahead with his divorce, he’s seeking joint legal and physical custody of the three kids he shares with Gustin.
Burton is also hoping the court will shut down either party’s ability to go after spousal support once the split’s official.
It’s clear that Burton’s been going through a lot of changes in his life, but he’s choosing to embrace the positives when it comes to his new gig on DOOL’s Beyond Salem series.
Burton has been promoting his latest role heavily and seems fine with moving on from his days in Port Charles.
What does that mean for the future of Jason Morgan? Time will tell, but Burton clearly has no plans to reprise his role as Jason at this point.
Of course, this divorce has to be a painful situation for Steve Burton’s family, so we wish them the best as they all try to heal and find a path forward.
