General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, January 26 Recap – Valentin’s Birth Certificate Bombshell - Sonny Grabs Nina in Violent Outburst

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 26, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) grabbed Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in a violent outburst while Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) faced a birth certificate bombshell. Let’s discuss how all the action played out on Wednesday’s thrilling episode.

In the Corinthos living room, Nina woke up on the sofa and panicked when Sonny was missing.

Nina eventually realized Sonny had been outside clearing snow out of the way for the girls’ picnic.

Sonny was talking a mile a minute as he suggested putting heat in the treehouse or buying one of those tiny homes.

After Sonny admitted he hadn’t slept, he argued that he didn’t need to since he felt great.

Sonny also didn’t want to eat anything and wound up storming out after Nina tried to get through to him.

Nina called Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) for help since Sonny seemed to be off his meds and didn’t want his family’s help.

Britt urged Nina not to argue with Sonny or engage in any of his grandiose plans.

Britt felt Nina needed to get Sonny to his doctor – and that had to start with getting Sonny to admit he was having a manic episode.

After Britt warned Nina about the potential of violence, Nina hung up and tried to get Sonny talking about what bipolar disorder was like.

After Sonny reluctantly explained, he insisted he wasn’t having a manic episode and forcefully grabbed Nina by the wrists.

Nina told Sonny he was hurting her, so he seemed upset over that news and let her go.

Sonny said he didn’t hurt women and eventually offered some ice, but Nina assured Sonny she was fine.

When Sonny asked if Nina was afraid of him, she admitted she was afraid FOR him.

Sonny decided maybe Nina was right and confessed to being exhausted.

That led to Sonny revealing he was out of medication, so Nina offered to take him to the hospital and refill his prescription.

At GH, Britt and Peter bickered as usual in his room. Since Peter’s stall tactics weren’t working, Britt made it clear that his prison transfer was imminent.

Peter gloated about how he’d be bound to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) forever through their child.

Next, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) got help from the nurse at the desk on finding out who the sonogram belonged to. The nurse punched in the patient number and pulled up some info, but she got called away to deal with a patient.

Britt caught Victor sneaking a peek at the monitor, so she demanded to know what he was doing.

After Victor lied about seeking Peter info, he threw Britt off her game by mentioning her Huntington’s disease diagnosis.

Britt denied having it and took off before Victor made a phone call to confirm something.

Afterward, Victor entered Peter’s room and mentioned the interesting phone call he just had. He pointed out that he was there to keep his end of the bargain.

Since Sonny’s doctor wasn’t available yet, Britt stepped up to help Sonny.

Nina assured Sonny she could be discreet since he didn’t want his family to know he’d been off his meds. Before Nina left, Sonny thanked her for caring.

In the yoga classroom, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) interrupted Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) meditation and ended up lashing out over Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) overnight stay with Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman).

Ava acted like Avery should’ve spent the night with her instead and didn’t want her daughter dragged into “CarSon” drama.

Carly argued that Bobbie needed the boost of spending time with the girls due to Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) memorial. She felt like Ava would realize that if she thought about anybody but herself!

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) wound up wading into the argument and sticking up for Sonny as well as Carly.

After Ava decided to just take a later class, she made a sweet phone call to Avery.

Later, Nina showed up in yoga clothes and was stunned to cross paths with Carly.

Although Nina started to leave, she ultimately stayed since she had something to say.

Carly insisted she had something to say as well and seemed ready for another faceoff.

At Kelly’s, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) had “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) next to him in a baby carrier.

Valentin arrived with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight), so he stepped over to admire how much “Bailey” had grown and learned she’d started eating solid foods.

After Valentin sat down at his own table with Martin, Chase told “Bailey” that went well considering.

However, Martin mentioned to Valentin that Brook Lynn still hadn’t made Chase the legal father on the birth certificate.

Valentin confronted Chase about it, but Chase acted like Brook Lynn had probably already started the process.

Chase thanked Valentin for letting him know and then left with “Bailey.”

Once Valentin rejoined Martin, he speculated that Brook Lynn had resorted to more deception.

Valentin thought maybe there wasn’t proof of Chase’s paternity and pondered why an upstanding detective would go along with the lie.

In the Pautauk woods, Maxie recapped her fake story to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Felicia Scorpio (Kristian Wagner) and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth).

Maxie was eager to wrap things up, but Austin remembered hearing two voices using a conversational tone.

Felicia thought this could be the breakthrough they needed, so Austin did his best to remember more.

After Felicia and Anna stepped away to search for cell service, Austin finally realized that Maxie was one of the voices he heard the night “Bailey” was born.

Austin expressed that to Maxie and wondered who she was talking to.

At the cabin, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) arrived along with Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

In a moment alone, Joss and Cam confirmed they wanted to sleep together for the first time tonight.

Esme was miffed over Trina being the one to convince “Spence” to get back out on the slopes, but she covered and acted like it was great. After the gang went skiing, they returned for the evening.

At one point, Spencer offered Cameron some condoms in case he needed them.

Cameron had it covered, but Spencer suggested they didn’t want any surprises.

Esme brought out a tray of hot toddy mugs, but she turned down Spencer’s help. She stepped to the side with the tray and held up a baggie of pills.

General Hospital spoilers say Maxie will have to make a tough decision about what she’s going to reveal, so stay tuned.
