In tonight’s The Rookie episode, there was a terrorist operating inside of LA. He recently stole over two hundred kilos of C4. He was bound to use them and unfortunately, he was targeting the freeways. LA has five hundred miles of freeways. There was no telling where the terrorist would target. They were still trying to figure that out as well as find him when the first bomb went off. It took out a highway. The unknown terrorist had paid innocent people a hundred dollars if they helped him in a traffic “study” and so these people didn’t know they were carrying bombs. It wasn’t until the police were locating them and pulling them aside from that those people realized they were carrying bombs. And that their study was in fact a terrorist attack.

Officer Nolan was driving with FBI trainee Simone Clark. She was smart. She knew this job better than the old pros and so Nolan trusted her word when she guided him in locating other trucks. Which was good because she led them to one truck. They rammed the guy that carried explosives. Luckily, it didn’t go off. The truck was stopped before it could take out another freeway and so the second truck helped them realize where the terrorist was targeting. They located the rest of the trucks. They stopped them. They also got Nolan and Simone to the hospital to get looked at for any injuries they might have incurred in the car accident.

Though, thankfully they were fine. They were later released from the hospital and Nolan got to meet Simone’s worried father and Simone got to meet Nolan’s worried girlfriend. Both of the other parties had been angry at the risk Nolan and Simone took by ramming a car full of explosives. The explosives didn’t go off either. The two saved the day and that won Simone some friends in the FBI. She was still a trainee after all and so she needed all the help she could get. Simone was winning over the FBI. She made friends with a fellow female agent. this same agent tried to tell her it was a boys club and that she had to get used to it, but Simone wasn’t just going to give up.

Simone wanted to change the system from the inside. It’s why she became an FBI trainee at forty-eight years old and it’s why she was following this investigation as closely as possible. The others weren’t resting either. They looked into their terrorist. His fingerprints were classified and so Sergeant Gray reached out to the CIA Officer in the city. He wanted to know the terrorist’s name. He was even hoping to find out his end goal. But the CIA stonewalled him. They denied all knowledge of the terrorist and then held a private meeting once the LAPD and the FBI left. And so the LAPD working with the FBI had contacted a man on the inside.

They found someone within the CIA willing to talk. But the CIA tried to grab this person before she could talk to the LAPD and so the LAPD had to take her into their custody. This would burn the officer. She can no longer go back to the CIA, but it was necessary to find out what was really going on. It turns out the CIA Command Chief in LA had taken part in an unsanctioned project that practically destroyed the terrorist’s life. The terrorist blames the CIA and America for what happened to him. He wanted to get revenge. Therefore, he came up with a plan to destroy as many enemies as possible.

Sergeant Gray later arrested the CIA Command Chief. He was facing real charges for his little “project”. Unfortunately, this arrest happened after the real bad guy ordered his CIA officers to take down the terrorist before the truth came out. There was a hit squad after the terrorist. He probably would have died if it hadn’t been for Simone and Nolan. They combined their skills to look for the terrorist. They later found him using Simone’s profiling. The guy had confessed to everything. He did it because a rogue CIA officer promised him help and then left his family to die back in their home country.

Simone and Nolan unraveled everything. It made Nolan look good. But it made Simone look like a real agent. Simone has the kills to pass Quantico. She now just had to be good long enough to join a radical task force that was coming out of the FBI.

THE END!
