The Young and the Restless Friday, September 23 Recap – Chelsea & Victoria's Johnny Deal – Diane & Phyllis’ Last Chance

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, September 23, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will strike a Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) deal while Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) get one last chance.

At Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) party, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will take the blame for the staggered arrival confusion.

Phyllis won’t be happy about being second on the list, but Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will push her to just focus on the bash.

Later, Phyllis will make a rather strained toast as she insists she’s capable of being in the same room as Diane.

After praising Noah’s new club, Phyllis will wish she still owned The Grand Phoenix since this place is going to be a huge hit.

Phyllis will offer gratitude for the invitation as she gets emotional and wishes the happy couple well.

Diane and Phyllis will plaster on fake smiles, but they’ll keep sneaking dirty glares at each other, too.

After Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Noah make speeches, Summer and Kyle will dance together.

That’ll lead to Kyle and Summer deciding that nothing can replace the importance of family, so they’ll sit down with Diane and Phyllis to give them their jobs back.

Once Phyllis and Diane learn they’re getting one more chance, they’ll both assure Summer and Kyle that they won’t blow it.

Next, Diane will wonder if Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) had something to do with this fresh start, but he’ll deny it.

A text will come in from Diane’s mystery accomplice, which will confirm this person is enroute to Genoa City and can’t wait any longer.

Diane will seem rattled as she steps away from the party – and Phyllis will look intrigued as she goes around the corner after her.

When Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) arrives home, she’ll find a romantic setup complete with flowers and Champagne.

Elena will tell Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) it’s going to take more than that to get her on board with his plan.

Nate will admit he’s back at Chancellor Winters and running with his original idea, but he’ll promise he’s not driven by revenge.

Although Nate will claim this is about proving himself and unifying his family in the end, Elena will struggle with all of it.

After Elena says she wants to support Nate, he’ll stop her right there and act like it’s all he needs to hear.

Nate will point out that he can risk his family’s anger, but he can’t risk losing Elena.

Elena will kiss Nate, but she’ll find herself unable to sleep later. When Nate corners Elena, she’ll confess that she just doesn’t think she can get behind this.

Nate will lash out over Elena being as limited in her view of him as Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is.

Once Nate suggests Devon and Elena have more in common than he thought, he’ll leave to get some air.

Nate will end up at Crimson Lights, where a woman will recognize him from Chancellor-Winters launch party coverage.

Since Nate won’t know who the woman is, she’ll think it’s lucky that she’s not easily offended.

The woman will introduce herself as Audra Charles, an executive that Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) brought in to help take the company public.

Audra will hope to make the decision official in the morning, so Nate will offer to answer any questions and add that he’s hoping for a smooth, successful venture.

At Chancellor-Winters, Devon will hint about letting Nate run with some ideas and seeing if they actually work.

Based on Devon’s tone, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will wonder if Devon is setting Nate up to fail.

Devon will deny that and suggest he’s offering more leeway like he said he would.

After Chelsea summons Billy, Lily will make another pitch to Devon about taking the company public.

Once Lily points out they’ll maintain 51 percent of shares, Devon will want to be sure no one can override their decisions.

In the end, Devon will agree if Lily really thinks this is the best course of action.

At the ranch on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victoria will give Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) updates on her plan to make Newman Enterprises the majority shareholder of Chancellor-Winters.

After Victoria reveals the scheme and Nate’s involvement, Victor will warn that it’s a risky game.

However, Victor will love that Victoria is tough like her father and decide they should go for it.

At Society, Chelsea will talk to Billy about telling Johnny and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) that they’re more than just cousins.

That’ll lead to Chelsea wondering when Billy’s going to get Victoria’s approval.

Victoria will find Billy with Chelsea and confront them about the visit Johnny had with Connor.

Chelsea will apologize and insist she’s not trying to do anything behind Victoria’s back.

Although Victoria still won’t think the time is right for Johnny to learn Chelsea is his bio mom, Chelsea will make a speech about why it’s so important.

There’ll be concerns about Johnny feeling like the last one to know and the damage that could do to him.

Victoria will eventually surrender, but she’ll make it clear that the ball will be in Johnny’s court.

If Johnny doesn’t want to suddenly spend more time with Chelsea or let her take on a new role in his life, she’ll have to accept that.

Johnny will also have to decide what his relationship with Connor will look like.

Victoria will want to give Johnny a heads-up before Chelsea fills in Connor, so Chelsea will be fine with all that.

Once Victoria decides it’s settled, Billy will suggest they should have a co-parent conversation about when and where to tell Johnny the truth.

Chelsea will give Billy a big hug in gratitude, so Victoria will witness it and seem displeased. That’ll leave Billy looking uncomfortable over the whole situation.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will make another mess before long, so stay tuned!
