The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) may be willing to cut off her friendship with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and force him to be Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) dad only. Will Abby bargain with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to save their marriage?
In Y&R’s November 18 episode, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) had a shocking suggestion after Abby came clean about cheating on Chance.
Although Ashley realized things looked bleak, she held out hope that Abby could save her marriage – and she thought Abby had to start by changing her relationship with Devon.
Of course, Devon will always be Dominic’s biological father and an important part of his life.
However, there’s no way Abby can maintain her usual level of closeness if she hopes to reconnect with Chance and move forward.
Chance understandably doesn’t trust Abby anymore, so Abby may assure him that she’s willing to take a step back and cut off her friendship with Devon.
Abby might argue that they’ll be co-parents and nothing more in a desperate last-ditch effort to put Chance first.
Nevertheless, Chance may wonder if Abby is being realistic here.
Ashley doesn’t seem to grasp just how resigned Chance seemed about Abby and Devon’s romance happening.
In Chance’s mind, Devon and Abby’s sizzling turn seemed inevitable. Chance may feel like shutting Devon out will only add to temptation.
It could at least create resentment and add to the issues in this marriage.
Chance might urge Abby to ask herself what she really wants deep down. Is it worth losing Devon as a friend to fight for her future with Chance?
Although Abby may offer this based on Ashley’s advice, she may ultimately see that it truly isn’t worth it.
Chance might view this as yet another attempt to change for each other when it’ll only bring misery.
Perhaps Chance will reject Abby’s deal and once again encourage her to pursue a romantic future with Devon instead.
The harder Abby tries to push Devon away, the more convinced Chance may be that the two of them belong together.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby may eventually decide she’s exhausted all options and just throw in the towel on her marriage to Chance.
