The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, August 8, tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will face a loyalty test while Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) lands in tricky territory. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will also find himself backed into a corner, so let’s talk about what’s coming up on Y&R.
For starters, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will have more questions about the night Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) died.
Nick and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had nothing to hide when they previously shared their side of the story, but that won’t be the case anymore.
Since Nick tells Victoria about the cover-up on Friday’s show, that means they’ll both be complicit in it when Chance grills them on Monday, August 8.
Chance may pick up on a shift in Victoria and Nick’s behavior, even if he can’t quite figure out what’s changed.
Nick’s going to get backed into a corner and will have to lie – though he’ll at least be tempted to come clean.
There might be a moment or two when it seems like Nick might confess, but he should keep his mouth shut in the end.
Chance will remain determined to get to the truth with Kevin Fisher’s (Greg Rikaart) help, which is a problem for the Newmans.
It turns out Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will hope to eliminate that problem with Abby’s cooperation.
Nikki will give Abby a not-so-subtle nudge to steer Chance away from this investigation.
It looks like Abby will take umbrage over Nikki pushing her to interfere, but Nikki may imply that so much is at stake.
Nick, Victoria and especially Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be in hot water if Chance digs too deep for answers.
Abby’s loyalty will be put to the test, so she’ll have to decide how to juggle her detective husband and criminal family.
Next, it seems Chelsea will test the boundaries of her working arrangement with Billy.
Chelsea will be brimming with ideas, but she’ll go overboard and put Billy in tricky territory.
Billy may have to rein Chelsea in without diminishing her enthusiasm.
There’s even a chance Chelsea will get a bit flirty and make things weird, but Billy will handle this as best as he can.
Meanwhile, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) may continue a discussion with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) regarding Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) and her constant pot-stirring.
Nate’s defense of Imani may leave Elena wondering if more than friendly feelings are bubbling up for her boyfriend.
Imani is clearly interested in Nate, so it’s easy to see why Elena would be concerned – especially now that Nate’s bond with Imani is growing stronger.
