The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, January 25, teases that Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) mission will begin while Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) makes a life-changing decision. Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will also carry out a revenge plot, so there’ll be some sneaky moves and big shockers going down.
Although Michael hasn’t officially resigned as DA yet, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wants him to go ahead and start his side gig.
Michael is definitely intrigued by Victor’s trust issues when it comes to Ashland.
Michael will wonder what Victor expects him to do, so they’ll talk about the next steps on Tuesday.
This is a tricky assignment since Victor’s daughter is involved – and she’s very much in love with Ashland.
Victor will want Michael to be careful, but he’ll also want him to be thorough when it comes to investigating Ashland and his recovery.
They need to know all there is to know in case Ashland might stage some sort of coup.
Michael will have a meeting with Ashland at Society, so there’ll be some button-pushing on both sides.
Ashland will get the feeling that Michael’s a bit too curious and may suspect Victor put him up to this.
Of course, Michael won’t be deterred from looking into Ashland and his medical details. He’ll leave no stone unturned when it comes to Ashland and whatever he might be hiding.
It turns out Ashland is hiding a whole lot, so Y&R fans may learn he was faking his lung cancer if this story keeps moving in the suspected direction.
For now, Michael is just getting started and will report back to Victor with whatever he learns.
In the meantime, Victoria will move forward with the next stage of revenge and media domination.
Victoria wants to stick it to Adam for all the shady things he’s done in the past and make Newman-Locke the ultimate communications powerhouse.
That means Victoria will keep working to acquire Newman Media – starting with the lawsuit she mentioned for the company’s name.
Victoria will also move into the next stage of her plan and try to convince Victor he’s in the driver’s seat, but she’ll be manipulating him throughout the entire process.
Elsewhere, Phyllis will have to figure out what she wants her future to look like.
Will Phyllis accept the offer Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) passed along – the one that could make Phyllis a new Marchetti employee right along with her daughter?
It could be tempting to leave Genoa City behind for a fresh start in Milan, especially since it’d mean spending more time with Summer.
However, Summer has her own life with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez), so Phyllis might worry about intruding.
Phyllis might even fear Summer arranged this like some pity proposal – just a way to make her sad and lonely mom feel better!
We all know Phyllis is a proud woman who worked hard to make The Grand Phoenix her own, so leaving the hotel in someone else’s hands would be tough, too.
Phyllis may be overwhelmed as she struggles with wanting this distraction and knowing it may not be the right fit deep down.
Whether Phyllis makes her choice now or later, Summer will be waiting whenever her mom finally decides.
Phyllis usually turns to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) as a sounding board in these types of situations, so he may offer his delayed perspective once he returns later in the week.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis and Jack’s future still looks bright, but they’ll have to sort a few things out first.
