The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may go to war over golden child Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle). Adam may complain that his dad’s new favorite always gets her way – and that really does seem to be true lately!
There was a time when Adam was the golden boy instead.
There have been instances in the past when Victor coddled Adam and only wanted him on the Newman throne. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has certainly had his moments in the sun as well, but now Victoria has emerged as the golden girl who gets what she wants.
Of course, Victor loves Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and rises to the occasion anytime she needs help, but Abby has always straddled the line between Newman and Abbott.
When it comes to a child who is a Newman to the core right now, it’s definitely Victoria.
Victoria’s become the most Victor-like member of the Newman clan – and that no doubt pleases her father.
It took some time for Victoria to score her spot at the top, but she proved herself and has earned the Newman throne in Victor’s eyes.
Victoria now has her husband Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) right there with her since they merged to form Newman-Locke.
Victor tends to rant about Adam’s “toxic” love interests, but he approves of lying, stealing Ashland because he makes Victoria happy.
Y&R fans know Victor bent over backwards to make sure Victoria had the wedding of her dreams and went to great lengths to keep Ashland’s past transgressions buried.
It turns out Ashland has another secret that’ll blow up down the road, but that doesn’t change how hard Victor’s worked to give Victoria everything her heart desires. Victoria is the apple of her father’s eye at this point.
Victor also made the decision to back off and let Victoria be the one to scoop up ChancComm, which irked Adam since it was their competition.
Now Victoria wants to snatch Newman Media right out from under Adam and consolidate it with ChancComm under Newman-Locke.
When Victoria proposes that plan to Victor during the week of January 10-14, he’ll like what he’s hearing.
That comes as no surprise since Victoria can practically do no wrong these days.
Victor must see a lot of himself in Victoria, who’s always plotting and looking out for number one.
If there’s a deal on the table, Victoria finds a better one – and if that deal falls through, Victoria comes up with a backup plan.
There’s a strategic nature to Victoria that resonates with Victor, so he’ll be tempted to go along with Victoria’s proposal.
The problem is Adam’s going to feel completely snubbed and betrayed.
Victor might force Victoria to let Adam keep running Newman Media under Newman-Locke, but will Adam even go for the idea of answering to his smug sister?
That’s not what Adam signed on for when he agreed to accept the job, so there’s the potential for him to quit if Victor goes through with this.
At the very least, Adam and Victor are going to have a serious shouting match.
Victor always caves when it comes to Victoria and her greedy wishes, so Adam will inevitably call his dad out on that.
