Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, January 20 Recap – Stefan Traps Ej in Co-CEO Deal – Marlena’s Heartbreaking End

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 20, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was hauled down to the Salem PD, where she heard the recording and acted like it must be someone imitating her voice.

Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) informed Kristen that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) was willing to testify, so she got EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) on the phone and tried to force him to be her lawyer.

When EJ refused to get Kristen out of her latest legal jam, she threatened to blow him out of the water.

Kristen vowed to call Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) next, so EJ put Stefan on speakerphone since they were playing chess together.

Once EJ called Kristen’s bluff, she got flustered and told Stefan that EJ was just acting like a child.

EJ ultimately hung up on Kristen and decided to confess the news himself since he was done with Kristen’s games.

On Friday’s Days episode, EJ admitted he knew about Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) brainwashing Stefan – at least after the fact.

Since EJ had just gained control of DiMera Enterprises, he didn’t want to lose that and kept quiet out of self-preservation.

Stefan recalled how EJ said Mr. Wei Shin (Clyde Kusatsu) questioned his mental capacity and realized that was a lie.

Although Stefan fumed over EJ making Li his number two, EJ pointed out that Li and Kristen had been holding his knowledge of the situation over him as leverage.

Stefan was furious since he considered EJ an ally – only to find out he was perhaps king of the vipers.

However, EJ was hopeful that they could find a way to put this behind them.

Stefan eventually agreed to forgive EJ and move on under one condition.

After Stefan said he wanted to go back to their original deal and be co-CEOs, EJ agreed to fire Li in the morning and run DiMera Enterprises as a team with Stefan.

Once the brothers shook on the deal, Stefan pointed out that they didn’t trust each other, but he assumed Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) would be proud of what they were doing.

In a moment alone, Stefan reflected on being a chess champion and was clearly a few moves ahead.

After Stefan promised he was coming for EJ, he seemed smug as he insisted EJ wouldn’t see it coming.

Back at the police station, Kristen told Rafe and Jada that she hit a snag with her attorney.

Rafe wanted a statement ASAP and hinted that a deal might be on the table if Kristen rolled on Li.

Kristen wanted murder charges off the table and full immunity, so Rafe suggested they could talk after she told them what she knew about Li.

Since Kristen refused to write anything down without consulting an attorney first, Rafe acted like she should be trying to shorten her sentence since she could be on the hook for three murders if Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) didn’t make it.

At the hospital, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) ran into Johnny and got updates on his decision to testify against Kristen.

In Marlena’s room on Friday’s Days episode, she begged John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to take her home since she wanted to die in her own bed.

John didn’t want Marlena talking like that, but he eventually agreed to a compromise and went to make some arrangements.

Once John sought help from Johnny and Chanel, they made their way up to the hospital rooftop to create a romantic scene for Marlena.

Chanel had managed to score a coffeeshop’s window display after explaining the situation, so they had some magical lights along with pillows and a blanket for the bench.

While Johnny and Chanel set everything up, they discussed Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) lawsuit along with Johnny’s romantic interest in Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace).

Chanel seemed a bit jealous before standing on an unstable chair to hang lights, which led to her falling backward into Johnny’s arms.

Johnny caught Chanel and made sure she was OK as they moved in close, so they nearly kissed.

Moments later, John wheeled Marlena up as they interrupted.

Once Marlena marveled over the romantic setup, Johnny gave John the remote for the Bluetooth projector he’d set up with old photos from John’s cloud.

Chanel also handed over a tub of strawberries and whipped cream from the local diner, so John fed Marlena one as they settled in.

Marlena was pleased to reminisce with John over the old pics and wondered where all the time went.

John held Marlena in his arms until she slumped over and became unresponsive, so he cried over her death.

Back with Johnny, he teared up over Marlena looking so fragile and was glad he ran into Chanel, who assured him that she’d always be a friend.

At the townhouse on Friday’s DOOL show, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) explained to Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) that Kristen had done some bad things and might have to go back to prison.

Since Rachel wouldn’t get to do fun stuff with Kristen anymore, she yelled that she wanted her mommy, not her daddy.

Once Rachel ran to her room, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) showed up to check on Brady.

Soon after on Friday’s Days episode, Rachel found Chloe and Brady together, so that led to a meltdown.

After Rachel blamed Kristen’s arrest on Chloe, she shouted that she hated her and earned a timeout.

Brady assured Chloe that he’d talk to Rachel, but Chloe said Rachel was entitled to her feelings and thought maybe the universe was telling them that they shouldn’t be together.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Brady will remain stuck in a messy situation, so stay tuned for more DOOL drama.
